So maybe adding another tank spec or two won’t get more players to play tank, but just have 6 for the rest of the life of the game while only adding dps and healer doesn’t seem like a smart strategy either?

I’d personally tank more if I had tank classes I liked. None of them are a caster fantasy.

Tanking is only fun in coordinated groups
I personally really enjoy tanking. Outside my main ranged and melee dps, my other top alts are all tanks.
Meaning, if my top classes that I enjoy could tank, I’d be tanking all throughout a season rather than reserving it for my lower ilvl alts.
This is what some people in this thread are missing. “If you enjoyed tanking, you would already be doing it.”

We would just be doing it much more if we could tank on the classes we personally enjoy more.
