My general opinion of the community council is pretty bad due to some of the people that I’ve seen be on it and what they’ve said but you seem alright so sorry you went through so much and had to hold out while going through it and hopefully now things will improve for you.
If it’s any consolation, you have way more freedom without the fancy-colored text.
Thank you for your service.

You’re implying that we were good for nothing as the other naysayers have already said in here. I have done my time to fight for players ideas and you ask me to find one thing the community council has changed which there are many things we have done. Like Yumuros said they don’t exactly get the “CC did this” Seal.
If you frequent the CC forums and then keep up to date with hotfixes, changes and patch notes you’d see the changes we fought for as clear as day. Don’t see us as out there vigilante’s like Superman making an image for himself. We’re more like batman, stalking in the night to make the world a better place under the cover of darkness.
Man do not make me grab the receipts. I’ve been known to do that.
Just because what I fought for didn’t get developer highlight doesn’t make it any less that I actually fought for it.
Translation: “The damned developers don’t listen to a word we say, and the players are a bunch of immature ingrates.”
First translation is rough but somewhat reflects my feelings. Second however is not true if you’d actually seen me hanging around here while I had my gold text wrapper. I didn’t care that people attacked me for a change of text color. I always said what was on my mind.
well, I was meaning that your work on representing the players usually gets overlooked and never appreciated.
One of these is true
I seeee… a misunderstanding then.
On a more serious note, this kinda stuff, CR people resigning, kinda makes me nervous, because I’m just gonna come out and say it, there is a serious disconnect somewhere along the line between the devs and the players, and when those ambassadors (the green and yellow community reps) start to bail, it just makes it that much harder to convey reactions to the developers. I totally respect you for wanting to step down, and I SURLY would never do that job for all the gold in Azeroth, but it just seems to make that gap just a little wider between the devs and the players. But hey, you can only clock into an insane job so many times, LOL.
While I am sure you were well intentioned, the contentious approach is not how you want to present when aiming for discussion.
To dispel a bit of misconception; The gold texters only get a year before we are either eligible to continue or are replaced. However I didn’t step down and as noted I was removed due to an unfortune incident where I let my RL stress and frustrations type my words for me. But I was set to retire automatically in less than a few weeks anyway.
I hardly see it as contentious when the person I was replying to has done nothing but talk down in a rather unwanted fashion. If they had more to bring to the table than “CC was bad” and were open to discussion I wouldn’t feel the need to find my topics to show them what I actually fought for. A lot of people have come in here, not reading what I posted and making assumptions with down right trollish and inflammatory behavior, trying to start a fight and I’m willing to prove them all wrong.
It has been my stance while I was on the CC to dispel misconceptions and prove that the CC can do a good job while interacting with the player base. As I said I tried to break the mold of what people perceive of the CC and I felt I did a good job.
Any thread that contains “CC” is contentious. So that ship has sailed.
And yet, here we are If you are going to be in CC then at least try to be non-combative and even-keeled. Don’t get me wrong, CC should be implemented differently, like much differently, but it’s still the best they came up with lol
It’s almost like people in the CC are human
They’re taking in average players, not vetted experts in the field of MMO 101. There’s going to be pushback between members as there is in any environment. Some were just more vocal and public with their disagreements as I was. But nothing good ever came from just flowery words or constant praise.
That’s really the only thing that matters. Only you can make that judgment and no one else’s’ opinion matters after that.
Who doesn’t do this. This just means you were passionate about your duties. (Although maybe you let those passions get a bit uncontrolled. Like I mentioned, who hasn’t done this before.) When I was a guild officer, this happened all the time, but we usually eventually slogged through.
Learn from your failures. And, successes. The torch will be passed to someone else, and they will learn soon enough it’s not all laurels and elegance, LOL.
Humans can be calm and level-headed. Not an alien concept.
Are they, tho? El oh el.
Don’t blame bad discourse on passion.
You still look a beautiful golden to me, Ravij.
You mean a cadre of hand selected brown nosers became an ineffectual mouth piece for their own concerns, isolated in the ivory tower Blizzard built for them?
Who would have ever guessed dividing the Playerbase into “chosen mouthpieces” and “the rest” would lead to such things.
One of us. One of us.
