After playing all the content for more than 100 hours I believe I can evaluate it more accurately now.
As a pvp player I’ did all dungeons, delves, world content, most side quests etc…
What TWW does right;
Hero talents 10/10 (as a warrior, probably wound’t rate as such as enhancement shaman)
Slayer and Colossus are peak design, they are so good that i can’t decide which one is better. Its like to choose between pizza and burguer.
As a shaman i’ve always loved enhancement, stormstrike and windfury philosophy, but at same time i always hated totems… i don’t want my enhancement to be a puny weakling caster or a totem enjoyer, so as enhancement i would rate hero talents as 5/10
Delves 10/10 (as content, rewards make it a 5/10)
Even though I’m a PvP player delves made me have fun with PvE, I’m really interested in investing in delves.
However, rewards are poor and not worth the time investment. I hope they change this.
solo dungeon 10/10
Similar to delves, i really love it.
It’s very satisfying to do the content at my own pace.
Art 10/10
As always blizzard art team are impeccable
Theme 7/10
Too many caves, but it is compensated by a decent job by the team
Class balance 9/10
Every class seems interesting in their own way, for me the game is on peak about this.
What TWW does wrong:
Political agenda 0/10
Disparity in coherence, 90% female leads, 10% males but they are incompetent and insecure
Story 4/10
Xal’atath could be better, the way things are happening seem very artificial, even though she is a character that has been in development for some time, the character is still not interesting.
It looks like a Sylvanas 2.0. She never makes a mistake, when she makes a mistake she gives a loud scream and flies away.
Faerin, also clearly artificial, I can’t get over the fact that she teaches a general (Steelstrike) how to be a leader and Anduin how to use light.
Annoying Disney princess personality.
I don’t have a problem with her being black or an amputee, I actually think it’s cool, I just think the character is really bad.
The nerubians plot is not interesting.
I can’t elaborate with that much precision, it just doesn’t catch my attention, I feel like there’s a lack of better characters.
Characters with Anub’rak’s model should be imponent, seeing them being reused so much made them lose their shine.
Arathi plot
Murrpray: “Arathi will subjugate the world!!111 HAHAHAHAHAHHAA”
Dear god thats SOOOOOOOOOOO BAD and generic and not coerent with its theme.
Lack of horde presence
Lack of orcs
Probably i forgot about some points, but thats it for now.
The writing is pretty mid. It still feels like Danuser had his hands on this story.
I usually don’t comment on comments like this, but the OP has a point. As a woman myself, I found the writing to be a little contrived, forced and a product of corporate virtue signaling.
I mean, you can have as many hours as there are under the sun, but blizzard has locked like 90% of the content still so, its hard to rate it even with 100 hours.
Thank you, I’m being genuine, polite and elaborating my opinion in detail, I don’t understand why this triggers some people so hard…
Instead of throwing a tantrum, they could just show me where I’m wrong by refuting me.
She lost her arm and an eye and she still is in total control of her emotions.
Anudin is destroyed himself, he is more lost that a sheep.
The game devs literally saved Anduin with Faerin.
Anduin is a leader ? A leader who gives up the first moment at the sight of adversity. We saw his leadership qualities in the cave during the shadow event. When he shows us his real side or being a loser that he is.
Faerin helps him focus. The Anduin we see today was with the help of Faerin. She helped him realize the strength of light is within you. Not in some star.
You have no idea what you are talking about if you really played the game for 100 hours.
You just had issue with Faerin leadership qualities.
You wouldn’t have this issue if he she was male with blue eyes and blonde hair. Like Arthas with growin mane.
Did I get that right ? Now try to defend your post with more than 15 words. Or you are a troll.
awww he touched a nerve with you didnt he. anduin’s story line feel like is was written by someone who has never experienced that kind of trauma in their life(i hope they never do) and is just writing from an outside perspective. it feels too forced and his “rehabilitation” is joke. from someone who actually has ptsd.
I think people are just super divided politically and socially these days. I put a lot of the blame on social media.
So having any kind of discourse around pointing out corporate virtue signaling can get kind of heated.
The sad thing in all this, writers, creators and companies try to paint people as bigots when any time people bring up these criticisms. The truth is, a lot of our modern media is filled with just lackluster writing, and when you add in the forced diversity, it just adds to the problem.
I’m all for more representation, but it shouldn’t feel forced. Even my gay friends hated most of the stories around the gay characters that were added into the game since SL.
I think most people that play games couldn’t care less about the character’s race, gender, or sexual orientation, we just want interesting story and well written characters that fit well in the established lore of Warcraft.
I don’t think he is trolling, I felt the same way with a lot of the characters. It all feels like bad writing wrapped up in corporate virtue signaling.
