But said raids have cool downs so what’s the point of squashing them all on a single night. Sounds like your guild is full of raid loggers.
It’s a job.
You need to do it fast because every guild is still gonna be farming MC and the current raids when AQ 40 and 20 get added. We have 3 nights of raiding atm, and thats with MC and BWL both down on tuesday.
When AQ comes out you will have the same people with the same schedule looking at more raiding in a week. If it takes you a few hours to down MC, you might end up having to add more raid nights.
Even if your guildies can make all the raids, they might not want to spend so many extra hours playing this game over everything else they could do. There is a real opportunity cost to your raiders if they have to add 2 nights of raiding they didn’t in the past.
If that is what your raid group wants to do then that is fine. Just don’t think it is required by the difficulty of the content. If any one of your raiders is missing gear they can just pug raid if they want some piece of gear that is just going to be replaced once AQ comes out.
post on main, inb4 enh sham XD
God, I couldn’t imagine how getting buffed would take this long. My guild has summon toons parked at each spot, we all get together Monday night for a buff party. Chat in disc, summon peeps to each spot, and bam.
Then raid BWL > MC > Ony in 2 hours Tuesday night and are free to play mains if desired the entire week. The buff party is typically a bit later Monday too, so many peeps are logging afterwards anyways.
Ret > most things.
You do have Blessing of Kings.
Most of the time. I occasionally swap things out. I find that BoK is great for most situations… It’s amazing for PvP. Tanks love it, and it stacks really well if there are other pallies in the group.
Ret/Enh is completely viable in 40 man content. Only becomes better the higher level of player you surround yourself with, which will understand the synergy/benefits you bring over another healer.
Haters (one shot cloth) mad.
You know what else is viable in a 40-man raid?
An empty spot.
That’s right, 39 people can easily clear BWL without 400 more DPS a ret would bring.
And do you know what’s great about empty spots? They take no loot!
Empty spot > ret paladin
but why roll trash anyways?
All I got from this post is that you’re selfish and your guild sucks. Our ret pally was handed a full set of t2. He swings nightfall and is happy to help the guild. Since he does that willingly we fronted almost all the mats for his hand of rag. He is very helpful and helps people out alot. Gotta go extra when you play a “meme” spec since you’re not needed.
Nightfall has become more meme than ret paladin. An average 30% less proc rate in raids than outside raids and blizzard said there isn’t suppression going on. Not to mention if you fill up your debuff slots it’s being replaced by low priority debuffs along with other weapon procs creating phantom debuffs that push off more debuffs (thunderfury is the biggest offender here)
On average you are looking at 80 dps on a given fight.
Nightfall gets significantly better next phase as the gap between caster and melee dps is substantially narrowed.
Honestly sounds like those guilds didn’t really know how to do loot for ret and enhance. Ashkandi is a pvp weapon, most warriors won’t be using it in raids. Even hunters can use it so I don’t see why your paladin wasn’t at least given the same prio as warriors for a pvp weapon. Same with the ret paladin T2 set. Its mostly pvp gear and all paladins should be given the same prio.
Enhancement it does kinda suck you don’t have a great set to use like ret paladin but still its a great pvp spec and most of those 2 handers only really shine in pvp. You should have been given at least the same prio as warriors for those two handers. Might have to take a back seat to hunters and rouges on the rest of the gear.
Unfortunately in raids, nightfall is really the best it gets in terms of usefulness. In pvp tho, ret and enhance have a ton of potential so it sounds like those guild were only focused on their own raid performance and didn’t care about other people’s goals.
With an average proc chance of 8% in raids with it being easily knocked off by low priority debuffs like deep wounds, good luck doing much better than 120 dps gain going forward.
Guilds are clearing 40 man raids with 20 players. The content is stupid simple, it’s just elitism and idiocy that a guild just can’t support a Ret or Enhancement Shaman with a few pieces of gear. These are low IQ chuckleheads that were indoctrinated into the “you NEED 30 warriors or you cant kill Ragnaros!” cult.
Anybody with this train of thought should never be taken seriously. I will enjoy when TBC releases and these morons whine about not getting free level 58’s so they can roll a Hunter/Warlock and continue their elitist brainlessness
Found the lolret paladin
Well Light blue is the new pink. Also don’t freely advertise your low IQ next time, everybody knows now!
