My Requests for Dracthyr Moving Forward

Just a few requests and my reasoning for asking for them:

Visage Form and Dracthyr Forms given seperate tmogs. If Alexstrasza and everyone else can shift forms and not have ridiculous shoulder armors on, so should all dragons.

More buff Dracthyr forms. Size 1, 2, 3, and 4 are great. Let’s add 5, 6, 7, and 8 as well. I want my Dracthyr to be swole, son. Let’s put some muscle options on there. Humans and Orcs are already built like silverbacks. I’m sure you can do it.

Teleports to Dracthyr relevant locations. Mages can port to all the cities, and that’s great. I don’t want to step on their toes. However, Dracthyr are all derived from Blue Dragons, as well as Green, plus the Red, Black, and Bronze. They’re full of magic. There’s no reason they shouldn’t be able to teleport to Valdrakken, the capital cities, that part of the Emerald Dream that Druids can teleport to with all the portal locations, etc. Sure, they shouldn’t be able to get into Val’sharah or whatever that place is named, but that initial portal hub, sure.

Here’s the two things I really want from evokers:

Access to all playable races for Visage

Let us have more than one Evoker per server, even a second one would be nice, so we can have one Horde and one Alliance.

Honest question because it doesn’t matter to me (and there’s no harm in letting people have multiple at this point imo); what is the motivation behind having one for each faction?

There’s no advantage or motivation behind having one on each faction.

However, this is a way they let us have more of the Hero classes before, by giving one per faction. I’m just asking for the same consideration for Evokers/Dracthyr.

I already have a new one designed, I would just like the opportunity to play it on my main server rather than attempting to level up on another server to play it.

I have multiples of each class to focus each character on a single spec. I find it easier to create new “personas” around a spec rather than an entire class.

Ah okay, this makes sense.

Just going for the “path of least resistance”.

I’d probably roll more Dracthyr because I like to create characters, even if I don’t play them.

I’ve even gone so far as to go into the creator, take a bunch of pictures (including all of the settings I used), and delete the whole thing. I did that with the Evoker I’d like to create next. I have the pictures so I can rapidly recreate it when we are allowed to make more.

Dracthyr body 3 and 4 are actually more muscular than humans, they just also have better proportions to go with it.

Dracthyr absolutely do not need the dysgenic fridge look you lot have been demanding for almost 2 years now

I mean, in my dream last night, Bliz brought in an alternative Dracthyr form which was all chonky like the guards you get in Valdrakken. They just swapped a few animations around, like deep breath was leap breath (big leap instead of flying over the top). It was absolutely awesome. I’d be so down for that.

God yes. Or they can let me be in visage more in combat outside of certain abilities. Or both

Ehhhhhh it’s a “wizard vs. sorcerer” kind of deal with mages and dracthyr. Mages study for decades and understand the math and science behind the magic they’re doing and can use it for a more broad array of things. Meanwhile dracthyr are like sorcerers, their magic is innate and they don’t really understand it, they can just do it.

So i understand why they don’t have portal magic, though it’d be nice if it were dropped on them one day.

They should get more dream related stuff. I though their innate connection to the emerald dream would get expanded upon during this patch at some point, but i guess the dracthyr storyline is done enough for blizzard after abberus. Enjoy sitting on the unanswered questions indefinitely i guess.

In general the blue and green dragonflight parts of dracthyr are underepresented. Especially the blue.

Red and bronze by far overshadow the others. Would be interesting if we got a spec/hero tree built around blue+green

I would assume blue and green will get their own, separate hero specs (and if they need extras well Vyranoth’s storm flight has a couple distinct themes)

While I like the idea of Vyranoth having some influence, as a player, as a lore enthusiast I would have to wonder how that would play out, since the Dracthyr character would not be infused with her essence.

Now, if you have an unlockable spec, that involves a storyline where she, as Aspect of Storms, decides you’re going to be her Champion, so she infuses you with some of her magic yadda yadda yadda, details, details, details, then certainly. It’s a post-creation upgrade you get.

Typically, when a hero class is introduced, it has always been one per server. This is also typically lifted at some point after the expansion that they were introduced in has ended.

it’ll probably get lifted next expansion since evoker is getting bumped all the way down with the other hero classes.

Let’s be honest they were not the “Hero” class like DK or DH were they could be changed already. I think Blizzard didn’t want full groups of Evokers and held back on the class as well as feed it a constant stream of nerfs. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy my Evoker but there are seemingly not needed limitations on the class.

Neither of the other two hero classes being broken on launch was good for the game.

Evokers were top 5 dps (with stints as #1) in vault and ab, and have been in the top 50th percentile most of this raid tier as well. If that’s what you consider ‘limited’ then I’ll take it.

My requests for Dracthyr:

  • Add Glyphs - Some of the Dracthyr animations need improvement.
    • Every other class has glyphs except Dracthyr. This needs to be fixed.
    • Deep Breath looks awesome, but Firebreath looks like you’re sneezing red licorice??? Add a glyph that makes Fire Breath look like it’s actually made of fire. Something similar to the mage Dragon’s Breath animation but coming out of the dracthyr’s mouth.
    • Or add an option to make all of the Dracthyr’s fire spells look more like actual fire.
      .
  • Add additional body options at character creation and the barber shop:
    • Larger and more buff body sizes
    • Add an option to increase head size. Currently, the heads look a bit small on the bigger bodies.
    • Add a hunched over option. Instead of looking like a bipedal lizardman have an option to be hunched over with a posture more like a velociraptor or T-Rex. This would help make it feel more like a dragon.
      .
  • New Transmog Options:
    • Completely separate mogs between humanoid form and dracthyr form.
    • Allow option to have all armor show in Dracthyr form, except capes.
      .
  • Gameplay:
    • I won’t comment much on gameplay balance since that is always in flux and I just came back from a break from WoW. However, I think the 25 yard range should be rethought. It would be better balanced to have 40-yard range like all other ranged DPS.

I think Dracthyr body 3 and 4 look odd. The head is too small for the body. They need an option to also increase head size.

I just want a slightly bigger range for our spells, a FAR more sinister/evil look to our dragon form (NOT a fan of being a race who is part dragon and whose sole purpose was being created to be the ultimate soldier by the one dragon aspect who looked like a demonic chad before corruption and even more so after his corruption, looking like a friendly goody two shoes who just came out of Dragon Tales) and some bigger wings. Like more webbed and flared out unlike the skinny ones we currently have. Seriously…. The text to their racial Visage says that it puts your party at ease when in visage form which one might assume is because their dragon form makes your party feel uneasy (yeah right, not happening when you’re looking like Ord.)

Also darker spell effects. I want my spells to look like a bastardized version of the dragon flights abilities.

Excellent idea. As an additional body option, Blizz should give several different wing shapes to choose from.
