My Issue with WoW

Then put them on ignore or don’t reply

When you post this in every single thread, maybe it’s you derailing it

On occasion I read hidden posts to see if theyve actually changed their behavior or actually finally make a good point.
Some are clearly irredeemable…others not so much

My guy what happened to you is abnormal.

The community in ff is worse than they community in wow. The biggest difference is that they allow dps meters but don’t allow you to talk about having them. So if someone is bad in ff they simply boot you from the group without listing a reason.

I feel like in wow in lower content the player base is the same.

But I played Ffxiv for quite some time and honestly they actually setup a more toxic atmosphere, they just don’t have a verbally toxic atmosphere because people don’t want to get banned

I have been in several groups where some dps or the healer was sucking and instead of the tank yelling at us he just /sits and gos afk until the group kicks him so he doesn’t get the deserter buff.

some people take these forums way way too seriously.

Well obviously you two have a frenemie thing going so there’s your options.

You continue to open hidden comments you open the door.

So take the options or not but in reality you’re adding fuel where there shouldn’t be any.

Are they?
Ive seen some FF players in here saying the same thing. I didnt enjoy FF enough to stick around long enough.
Ive been tempted at times to quit WoW and go try FF again, but if its just as bad there with the malcontents, no real reason to bother

Yeah, FF14 is awful. I was in a group yesterday and someone went afk so we just stood around and danced until they came back!

It’s terrible!

now, thats not true and you know it.
Ive gone entire threads NOT responding to them and they have STILL hung on my every word and derailed the thread.
one of them literally a while back was chastised by a blue for admitting to derailing intentionally

Aw hell naw.

If I had a dollar for every time I see someone come on and make this type of post, I’d not need to pay a sub for a while.

This game is what you make of it. You can be as social or antisocial as you want.

My proof is this: I played it for a couple of weeks. Nobody talked to me. Nobody responded to me when I tried asking questions. the so-called Mentor never once helped me. It was as friendly as … well, it wasn’t friendly at all.

I take part in the Newcomer system in WoW as a Guide and a day does not go by where I don’t help a new player out, or see other Guides doing the same. We get no benefit from that - unlike FF we are not rewarded for it, its done because we enjoy helping people. Sure, you get the occasional idiot, but show me any situation involving human beings where that doesn’t happen.

As I said, the game is as good or bad as you want to make it. And I would take WoW any day over FF14.

Sounds like you communicated in one game and got a response and did not communicate in the other.

I especially like the carry sales lol.

And yet I have taken a couple of new players through some instances to get them a bit of gear, and just for the fun of it - at no charge.

The carry adds happen on any chat channel and almost always get reported immediately on Newcomer. Not a lot I can do about that, as much as I’d like to.

So saying something from my own experience is subjective, and calling it proof… is an oxymoron, either you don’t understand the term oxymoron, or subjective.
as for the grammar? I’m sorry i forgot to capitalize the “t”

Wait if they said nothing at all, how did you know this was the reason? Did you actually whisper someone in group and ask? And this was for a heroic or normal dungeon I am assuming?

Did you also tell your wow groups you were rusty before the run began?

I only ask because in my experience, when I recently tried brewmaster tanking on my monk, I went into a few +2s and +3s and told them that I was new to BM (since my rating and ilvl suggests otherwise, but that’s all from DPS) and… there was no issue.

Personal experiences I guess.

The group was the absolutely nicest group ever, even help me through the few shortcuts that weren’t intuitive at first.

You owe that group $2000, I’ll get back to you on where they’d like their checks mailed to.

“Subjective proof” is an oxymoron if you understand the terms “subjective”, “proof”, and “oxymoron”.

But if you don’t know the meaning of any of those words, I could see why you’d struggle

The Irony.

WoW is way less solo friendly than ffxiv is. Heck out of all the mmorpgs I play (ffxiv, ESO, and Gw2) WoW is by far lacking in the solo department compared to the others.

this is one of the many points i’m trying to make.
