My ideas for Farseer

Goals for the ideas:

  • Lessen pet gameplay
  • Incentivize using Lightning and Lava spells
  • Focus on chain lightning, earthquake, and bring in feral spirits as an option to honor wc3 Farseer.
  • Minimize feeling forced to build into specific talents.
  • Keep Ancestor spiritual theme.

The numbers may be way overtuned, I didn’t spend time calculating balance. Chance to proc Ancestral Spirits would start at 50% and then reduce by half for each active boon.

Keystone:

Ancestral Spirits - Casting Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Flame Shock, Lava Burst, Healing Surge, Earth Shield, Chain Heal, and Healing Stream Totem has a chance to summon an Ancestral Spirit at a random location within 15 yards of you. The Spirit will walk slowly towards you. Once you connect with the spirit, you will be granted a boon:

  • Enraged Wind mastery: Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning and their overloads deal 25% more damage and generate extra maelstrom or mana for 8 seconds. Chain Heal heals for 25% more and restores mana for 8 seconds. Maximum maelstrom increased by 100 for the duration and for 5 seconds after the boom expires.
  • Ancestral knowledge Mastery: Gain 10% haste and Ancestral Guidance for 8 seconds.
  • Ancestral Flame Mastery: Lava Burst and its overloads deal 40% additional damage over 4 seconds for 8 seconds. Healing Surge, Healing Wave, and Riptide always proc Ancestral Awakening for 8 seconds.
  • Soothing Earth Mastery: Healing Rain, Earth Shock and Earthquake reduce the cooldown of all your abilities by 2 seconds. Elemental Blast reduces the cooldown of all your abilities by 3 seconds. Riptide reduces the cooldown of all your abilities by 1 second.
  • Enraged Storm Mastery: Your spells overload 40% more often. Wellspring, Downpour, Unleash Life, Healing Tide Totem, Primordial Wave, and Earth Shield heal for 30% more for 8 seconds.

The chance to summon an Ancestral spirit is reduced for each active boon you have.

Left Tree:

  • Crackling Earth: Ele: When you gain Enraged Wind Mastery, the next three Earthquakes or Earth Shocks you cast cost 30% more maelstrom and deal 40% more damage.
    Resto: Chain Lightning has a chance to drop an Earthquake under your primary target.

Choice Node:

  1. Enraged Spirits: When your Ancestor spirits grant you a boon, they leap to a nearby enemy or a nearby injured ally and explode, dealing damage or healing for 90% spell power in a small radius.
  2. Spirits of Earth: When you summon an Ancestor Spirit, they cast 1 charge of Earth Shield on a nearby ally (Resto) or an Earth Spike at a nearby enemy (Ele).
  • Flame sundered ground: Earthquake and Healing Rain spread flame Shock to 1 additional enemy every 1 second.

Center:

Choice Node:

  1. Astral plains walker: When you become stunned, feared, or take 33% or more of your health in a single attack, gain lesser Astral shift for 5 seconds, reducing damage taken by 15% for 5 seconds.
  2. Astral Traveler: For 5 seconds after entering Ghost Wolf form, you may cast all spells without exiting.
  • Ancestral Wisdom: When your Ancestor Spirits grant you a boon, they also grant Ancestral Wisdom to you and nearby allies for 8 seconds, increasing the range of spells by 2 yards and increasing secondary stats by 3%.

  • Chains of Devastation: Casting Chain Lightning makes your next cast of Chain Heal instant. Casting Chain Heal makes your next cast of Chain Lightning Instant.

Right Tree:

  • Critical Flame Mastery: Dealing damage with Lava Burst or Ancestral Flame Mastery grants your next cast of Earthquake or earth shock 3% critical strike chance and 3% critical strike damage, stacking up to 30 times.

Choice Node:

  1. Ancestral Ascendance: Summoning an Ancestral Spirit grants your next Ascendance a damage and healing bonus of 3%, stacking up to 5 times.
  2. Lesser Feral Spirits: Summoning an Ancestor Spirit has a chance to also summon a Lesser Feral Spirit, which will leap to an enemy, deal 25% spell power Elemental damage and heal a nearby ally with each attack for 12 seconds. Your damage and healing is increased by 3% for their duration. Maximum of 2 Feral spirits can be summoned at a time.
  • Master of Elements: Gain 1 additional Rank of Master of Elements.

Capstone:

Ancestral Spirit Wave

  • When a spirit boon on you expires, gain a charge of Ancestral insight. Upon reaching 15 charges, Chain Lightning is transformed into Ancestral Spirit Wave, dealing 125% Elemental damage to a primary target, and then chaining to 9 additional targets, preferring to alternate between friend and foes, dealing 60% Elemental damage or 150% healing, diminishing with each jump.
