Can I just say that I’m so excited to heal dungeons for the first time since Legion, all thanks to this absolute queen who literally stops when you ask her to?
I’m not even joking or being cheeky. I’m legitimately looking forward to playing dungeons at a pace that will allow me to heal without greying my hair even further! This isn’t a dig at those that like to go fast, but it is a sigh of relief that there’s a place to heal dungeons (so, to PLAY A HEALER) at a non-breakneck pace, because honestly, there needs to be a place for that, and that place isn’t with live random players in 2023-2024.
“Don’t be new on other players’ time” is the curse of a game as old and “time efficiency obsessed” as WoW, and this feature was just needed!
I am a crazy altoholic, and I have been turning my healers from earlier expansions into DPSers or tanks since Legion. My vanilla healing main, a resto druid with a very fae concept, was a bear in ardenweald and it broke my heart, but… tanks (especially bears) just win in the open world, and the open world was the only place I felt comfortable playing most of my characters, given how speed crazy the rest of the world had gone in dungeons thanks to M+.
Again, y’all can have your speedruns, but they went from a niche to the norm, which took dungeons off my plate because… that’s just not my style!
Three cheers for Captain Garrick, and for Follower Dungeons! It’s well past time for this feature, and I have an army of glass cannon DPS and healer alts parked at 60 (or approaching 60 through herb/mining away their rest XP every few days) ready to frickin LIVE in follower dungeons to 70!
I wonder if the fact that the Follow AI is a mix of Alliance and Horde races is gonna be a turn off for some? I think if you are a DPS, the healer is a Tauren Druid? The Tank is Alliance of course.
But I guess it is a good way to practice roles you haven’t been comfortable trying publicly due to not knowing how your group will treat you if you aren’t fast enough, or “good” enough.
I look forward to getting a tank off spec gear for my character just for the purpose of practicing with bots. lol
I might actually queue just to watch that NPC die. Looks like the NPC from the starter zone, w/ the cringiest story/lines in WoW history. REVENGE WILL BE MINE.
Why? They are bots. Itʻs not like they are gonna vote kick you because your gear isnʻt BiS
Unless you dont have a decent shield or a 1 hander. You can do a time portal and a dream thing and get some okay weapons. The rest of your gear should be fine for the level of follower dungeons.
I absolutely agree here! We’ve reached a point where there is a gulf between the expectations of certain sects of players. It was honestly past time for a feature like this!
As someone in the target audience for follower dungeons, I fully agree that they really should never go beyond normal mode, but they should be in every normal mode dungeon from here on, IMO.
Dragonflight dungeons will cover level 10-70 as of TWW, so if Blizz does follower dungeons for normal mode from now on, that will mean a follower dungeons leveling pipeline that goes straight to delves at the level cap: A full “1-5 players” instanced PVE game that goes from level 10 to heroic raid level gear. Absolute bliss.
Delves are also a good reason why you’ll never see AI in M+.
(Looks over shoulder, then whispers) We aren’t meant to be bothered by that any more…
I still don’t get how, with the fairly regular posts about folks who prefer a slower pace, there’s not plenty of guilds/communities or just groups in LFG available. Seems odd that the answers’ always been right there and people won’t take advantage.
I hope they make it realistic and not have the AI play perfectly, like one of the bots may have low Ilvl or slow reaction time, or a healer who isn’t speced right. Part of the challenge should be having to adapt to the team you get and make it work.
It’s not bad if you don’t do much group play, but want to experience the content. they always put quests for dungeons to be done so I can see this as a positive for that!
