My General TBC Wishes

  1. Character Transfers - allow people to bring their 60s*

*Allow Draenei and Shaman (ally only as an incentive to faction balance) a 3 day early release head start - then allow everyone to start leveling this way they could hit 60 and do outlands with everyone.

  1. More realms - don’t just copy each realm. Release enough realms at the start so that we don’t end up with super servers full of people scared to change their choice leaving others desolate.

  2. 5k Gold cap - if we aren’t doing a fresh start - cap at 5k gold.

  3. Get rid of spell batching - especially considering the arena. People will for sure figure out how to abuse it.

  4. Start with 2.1 talents/stats don’t waste time on 2.4 balancing. We don’t need the catch up mechanics at the start. While having Hydross immune to boomkin/elemental shaman damage was stupid, having the fights already nerfed down to nothing will be a slap in the face.

  5. Learn from the private servers - they’ve artificially buffed bosses by 30% and people are still able to get them down easily. Please do this.

  6. Skip right to 2.4 AV - since you robbed us of 1.5 AV in classic, don’t waste time getting to modern AV in TBC.

  7. Slower tier release and not rushing through PVP seasons. You guys absolutely borked it by allowing Marshall/Warlord weapons 9 months before they were supposed to be out. People pushed to grind their PVP BIS. FOLLOW THE TIME LINE OF TBC AND TIER IT OUT SLOWLY. PVP weapons are still better than most of the PVE ones if you can get the ranking for it. Don’t make this mistake again.

  8. Anticipate being on a super server, again - things like tailoring patterns will be bot camped nonstop and impossible to get from places in shadowmoon valley. Please make them spawn faster so players aren’t stuck paying 500g for a vendor pattern.

  9. Heroic Keys - Revered please. Not honored. Give us something to do and not allow people to zerg into heroics instantly.

  10. My ultimate wish: Allow horde a one time faction transfer when copying. HORDE ONLY. Basically you can faction xfer your character to ally at the start of the expansion - including shaman - after a 5 day launch grace period. There are a lot of horde that would like to play alliance, and this will help with pop balancing. Many just dont’ want to give up their character/reps etc; This wouldn’t hurt the game as they would be in the same spot as their ally companions of being level 60.

Increasing boss health doesnt make the game harder over all it just makes bosses bullet sponges. You can Tout how it makes the game better for p-severs but in the end when your not on that content anymore all it does is make it take more time to do. Just suck it up and deal with the fact that TBC content will not be hard to complete for people. If you want tiers to take longer you can make an argument for that. Just increasing health to prop of difficulty is a waste or time.

The Best argument made is and will be not using the post attunment removal Changes. If you want to slow dps down change drums too

Best way to do TBC is fresh start. That way the Outland won’t be insanely crowded and unuseable.
And, nerfs to minmaxing are always preferable to npc buffs.

So you want faceroll talents, instantly available all expansion bis gear from PVP, and everything available at once?

I figured with buffed health it means mechanics will matter more. Like curator is easy to wipe on if you can’t one phase him.

Plus, if you have longer adds on Kael, makes the fight more challenging since you can’t explode them.

I’m open to anything, though. I think if they roll things out the same way as original it should be okay. There was so much math and data during actual TBC people knew the min/max way already.

It would be better to chip at the edges then buff the boss health. Longer fights do what you say but the other end just makes it a slog to get through. We can identify the issues with Min Maxing. Drums and gem stacking will be a bigger part of this. Adding sated debuff to Drums for the group for 2 min would stop the constant haste and increase fight length.

The next one takes more work but you could reduce the value of Non correctly socketed gems. Doing this would lower damage output and get you the same results without increasing boss health. The rest of the changes start to fall into class changes and that could become a balance issue

Wrong.

Best way to do TBC is a progressive server, just like it was done originally. Fresh start is a pserver thing. Go back to that community if you want to have that play style.

It’s pretty easy to spot the players who played private servers before Classic, because they are used to making stupid demands and getting their way (because private server devs are afraid of losing their player base), and are continuing to try to do so here.

Dumb idea, never gonna happen.

Nonsense, waiting to balance broken classes and mechanics is just stupid.

You have no idea what you’re talking about r14 weapons are on par with rag/bwl weapons.

Only people who want that are those who have done nothing in classic, no gold, no cool mounts, no titles to carry on, ofc you want fresh start.

I don’t know why people immediately flame for someone wanting a fresh server. You think there is only going to be one type upon TBC release?

Could you imagine the uproar if they wiped everyone’s progress who wanted to go to TBC?

There will be both servers that will accommodate different playstyles.

Take a breath, it’s okay for people to have fun playing.

People should ask for fresh start servers options for TBC instead of fresh start for everyone. These people don’t want to just start fresh they want to play in the best servers and want everyone to start fresh so they won’t feel jelly of people who worked hard throughout classic.

Could you show me where it says ‘everyone’?

Just search the forums for like 3 mins…

A few disgruntled players posting on forums do not represent the entire player-base. The assumption that they do is a mistake that Blizzard has been making for YEARS, and just recently, FINALLY stopped making.

  1. Sure.
  2. Terrible idea. Small servers are toxic hellholes that are very often run by a handful of guilds who collude against people they don’t like or want to compete with. Mega servers are better for the games health overall and greatly reduce group scarcity.
  3. Another terrible idea. Gold cap should be somewhere between 250-500g per account. With zero material transfer of herbs, ore, or cloth. No reason to explain this. We have perfect example in retail where carrying gold between expansions hurts majority of people play the game. The wealthy continue to horde gold and resources in the game, while everyone else is forced to resort to gold buying to get any where, because gold inflation destroys server economies.
  4. Yeah, definitely. Shouldn’t have been in classic either.
  5. Literally doesn’t matter what talents they start with as long as they take them into consideration and balance boss health and damage accordingly. It would be better for them to start where they left off, and tune from there if some things are too strong.
  6. Yes, they should buff bosses to make fights at least some what compelling for modern gamer. They could even just have heroic raids offered. You can only get one lock out per week in heroic or normal. If you take on heroic you get a shot at extra item drops per boss. This allows more casual guilds to explore the content, while more hardcore guilds can challenge themselves.
  7. No Opinion.
  8. Yeah this one is good here. They did rush classic content out quicker than was necessary. They probably lost money at the end of the day because of it. They think the fans are too fickle and will abandon ship. They won’t. They’ll come back.
  9. Yeah, if mega servers come back, which they should because despite what some people think, the game is better with megaservers than without. Megaservers do have flaws, but the upsides far out weigh the downsides. they should accommodate them better with appropriate changes.
  10. No, this is a bad idea. I don’t know the details about this, but people are going to eat up dungeon content very quickly, just because players are more committed and efficient than ever. Making it revered would likely only hurt casual players and keep them out of content in favor of the hardcore players.
  11. Population balance doesn’t matter.

“Abusing” spell batching in arenas is literally why we had it in Classic. Vanishing coils, gouging blinks etc… These are part of the high end competitive nature of arenas.

Wait wut. I thought they weren’t replaced until naxx oO?

I know for casters anyways the r14 wep is a one intellect difference from femur

They are not because vanilla gearing is not linear, but if u compare r14 weapons to CTS, Nef and rag weapons it’s basically the same thing within 1-2 dps difference.
