I see FF14, I post catgirl pics:
Complicated dance with slow gameplay.
Less complicated dance, with lots of RNG, and fast gameplay.
It’s a different strokes for different folks. They’re both hard in their own way. If I had to guess though… less people would be able to complete WoW content when compared to what I’ve seen in FFXIV. From what I’ve seen, it looks like memorizing a complicated pattern. That just takes time (lol ‘just’). Mythic raiding though often takes numerous split second decisions while simultaneously performing near perfect rotations.
Also IIRC aren’t their way less people in the raid in FFXIV? That alone makes WoW raids much much harder.
They are, and they aren’t. For output needed, I’d say WoW is harder. For needing to be an expert at DDR (ie mechanics causing you to move here and there and everywhere), I’d give the edge to FFXIV.
Yes raid groups are a static 8 (aside from 24 man, but that is basically LFR).
Then… wow is harder. It isn’t even a competition anymore imo. Waiting for 20 people to play perfectly for 10-15 minutes is always going to be harder than waiting for 8 people.
That’s fair, I was judging based on an individual level. But overall yeah, you are right.
They are different challenges.
I wouldn’t say FFXIV is slow (at Max level), often your doing more APM in FFXIV than you are in WoW between using Global GCD then 1 to 2 off GCD abilities in between that GCD.
Isn’t Ultimate is like a 20 minutes fight and even team Echo themselves can’t beat it?
Yup, the latest ultimate is around 23-25 mins, and is also the most difficult one to date. But generally speaking all ultimates you can expect a 20 min fight.
FFXIV skill floor is way higher than WoW. Even the easiest class in FFXIV is harder to play than the most complicated WoW spec. FFXIV also doesn’t allow crutch addons like DBM, Weak Auras, or any kind of rotation helper which the extreme vast majority of “elite players” rely on.
FFXIV though has a much better information system with telegraphs and consistency in how mechanics are to be handled. For example, a player with a debuff needing to run away from the group has the same indicator fight to fight vs a meteor effect meant to be soaked. FFXIV it’s also very easy to get lost in all the visual clutter fights have both from bosses and your group as well.
Heroics are not comparable to Savage. Normal maybe, but not Savage. Not to mention the multi attack rotations with ogcd weaving and everything in between. The difficulty, and fun, is actively higher for several things including raids.
Depends how long ago they used to raid. If it was long enough ago… he was comparing Mythic to Savage which is a fair comparison.
I suppose. Then again, we’ll probably never know. I could be a multi award winning author sitting here behind this screen, and say that i’m a brain surgeon instead. It is what it is sadly.
Well I am the Queen of England…
Seriously though, I wasn’t commenting on whether he actually did the content though, only pointing out that Mythic used to be named Heroic, so if he hasn’t raided in a while… that could be why he used Heroic vs Mythic and Mythic vs Savage would be a fair thing to compare.
Fair. (that’s really all there is to say atm) Enjoy the rest of your day my toothy friend.
“Prove it.”
His claim, burden of proof is on him not you.
Then you are wrong. The hardest raids in ffxiv are harder then wows by a long shot.
You’ve not really done hard raids, how can you judge the difficulty?
who cares?
