My focus for BfA

(Warning: this thread is designed purely for fun, based on the idea if I had the powers of a GM and developer over Emerald Dream)

Now for the fun, if I was given 2 years to tell a series of mini stories that cater to the faction war as well as other stories coming out of post legion.

So lets start with someplace deep in the mist.

PANDARIA:
After completing the initial story of BFA Pandaria will be put into a new phase (old one accessible in jade forest in either faction starting town.this phase overrides any progress done in MoP, phase back to continue old quests).

Much of the landscape has changed from the initial legion invasion. Much of the celestial temples have been destroyed and now they reside in the veil of eternal blossoms where they spend their time helping to repair damages brought on by Garrosh releasing the power of the Sha.

Yaungol now roam free, but some begin to serve a new master…

Clan Felblade:

With their fortress on the isle of thunder with a crashed legion ship acting as their power battery. The clan Felblade have embraced the power of fel as a tool to help bring their empire back to greatness.

They have already begun to take the northern coasts of Townlong steppe and Kun-lai Summit. The Pandarens especially those of the Shado-pan clan send in a request for aid.

Klaxxi:

At the end of the war there was a great rumbling of the earth to the west where word came out that a collossal sword struck the world.

In weeks after the Klaxxi launched a full offensive against the great wall. They control the southern half of the wall and the dread wastes have been cut off to all non-klaxxi. Any attempts to fly into the dread wastes have been met with nets and shot down. Shado-pan reports sightings of strange mounds if gold like stubstance being used by the klaxxi.

New Land Features:

Horde / Alliance favors- while war effort against the new fel-mogu continue, horde and alliance push for favoritism in the jade forest. When “Favoritism” is met, the faction gains control of the former court of the Jade Dragon. Now turned into a Shado-pan temporary fortress.

First to a faction to 100,000 points in favoritism gains control of the fortress for 20 hours before being reset again.

Benefits- unique items, transmog, recipes, and mounts.
How to gain favors:
++turning in Pandaria specific materials to daily quest vendors
++completing world quests
+killing fel-mogu in jade forest

How to lose favor:
-Attacking and killing town guards
-killing members of the opposing faction

NORTHREND:

with the undead contained in the Icecrown Glacier, the Crystalsong Forest now houses the stronghold city of Fordrings Rise. Which acts as a training camp and more recent human and dwarf settlement in Northrend. ( same as Pandaria the new maps phases are accessed from completing chapter 1 of BFA)

with the argent dawn gone the way of Tirion Fordring, The Dawnguard act as jailers of Northrend to prevent the spread of any more of the Scourge. Despite their best efforts, there has been the word of the spread of necromantic powers being used on former fallen across the land.

More goes on across the land…

Recent battles have broken out between the Taunka and Vrykul, with horde and alliance offering assistance to respective sides. Whatever started this conflict does not matter but certainly, the conflict may not end soon.

The Shu’nok:
Horde supportive taunka attack clan. With their main village of Taunka’le of Borean Tundra now a full-on major taunka city. The taunka take an example of the Shu’halo cousins of the south and try to unite the tribes of the north to maintain the balance of nature and migration. The operate attacks upon grizzly hills and Howling Fjords.

The Odyr:

with traditional Vrykul have come up from the broken isles and have begun to resettle the Howling Fjords. With their further settling the land, the Taunka have begun to attack their settlements. the alliance sends their forces to help push back this determined Taunka and hope to gain a northern footing above Kalimdor.

The Dragon Concordance:

With the threat of the legion gone and many dragons lost over the years. The dragons look to consolidate what is left of their people and their duties over the world. With a new council the dragons look to offer their favor. Though temporary the dragons safeguard the entirety of Dragonsblight.

New Land Features:

Dragons Safe Haven-
Through a once every 6 hour contest. the remains of Galakrond have been turned into a massive caged arena. In the center of the arena will spawn a chest. the chest is guarded by 4 magic nodes. All four must come down in order to access the chest. Whoever opens it gains 100 conquest points and their faction now becomes friendly to that zone.

Any opposing faction in that zone will not find safe harbor with the concordance or any dragon shrine. Only safe haven will be any outpost that faction has or Moa’ki harbor of the Tuskarr.

If no one has claimed the treasure within the allotted time of 20 mins of its start. Then the land will be named contested.

Dragon Concordance rep is gained from competing in the arena or completing world quests. Varied reputation gives access to unique patterns which give powerful enough items or gear. Unique mounts are available for higher reputation individuals.

Eastern Kingdoms

With the events of Undercity over and done with the northern holds of the horde have been significantly weakened. The alliance led by Genn Greymane hope to use this opportunity to take back lands they lost. With a strong effort in Arathi Highlands, they stand a good chance to take back Hillsbrad foothills and eventually other lands of Lordaeron. Alliance quests will be based on progressing the war campaigns as well as new epic quests and class-related quests and racial quests to be applied to the overall story.

The alliance makes a stronger foothold with the help of the dwarves in their core areas as the alliance becomes more centralized. Blackrock orcs have been pushed out of Blackrock mountain and Burning steppe but now team up with remnants of Dragonmaw clan In the former twilight highlands.

As of 8.1.5, with the Kul’tirans joining the fight. They push a two-directional effort to break up the hordes holdings. alliance quests will focus on destroying Grom’gol base in stranglethorne and putting in efforts to disrupt horde forces in Hillsbrad Foothills. This effort will be led by Jaina Proudmoore in the south and spymaster Shaw in Hillsbrad. Efforts must be done without invoking the wrath of the now neutral Alterac Frostwolves.

Efforts are being sent to Stratholme to reduce the efforts of the horde from controlling the city.

But the horde is not taking it lying down. Lord Reagent Lor’themar Theron with his general Lady Lliadrin are running a spearhead from the ghostlands into the plaguelands. With the Highmountain Tauren and Suramar Nightborne. They make a two-pronged effort in the plaguelands. With the argent dawn now become the Silver Hand during the legion war. Lady Lliadrin uses her status in the order to make a humanitarian effort to help speed up the process of healing the land from the plague but also using the opportunity for the horde to try to make use of Stratholme as a new forward base of operations.

As of 8.1.5, the Zandalari Trolls and Kul’tiran fleets will be off the coast of Stranglethorn as Zandalari look to bring in the Gurubashi trolls into the fold. during this horde war campaign questline horde will lose Grom’gol base camp but will gain Zul’gurub as a new fortress for horde operations, old dungeon access will be available via bronze dragon phasing.

New Land Feature:

World Quests- Updated old zones to have world quests for resources, money and bonus reputation for a myriad of groups and factions.

Quel’thalas and Stratholme- the two major areas as part of the BfA story will now be synced with the overall world map and is a flyable territory. Showcasing the scarred and destroyed city of Stratholme as well as its coastline. New and update restoration efforts of the Ghostlands. Players lose access to these updated areas when they speak to bronze dragons in eastern or western plaguelands.

New BG- Stratholme

This bg is set in the city of Stratholme where there is large streets or small alleyways. Very few open areas, players keep their wits about them as they try to take control of the city.

Size: 20 men bg
Objective: kill opposing faction leader (buffs based on how many nodes they control) or by having 1500 points.

There are 5 nodes in total To be captured.
One near each faction starting area and 3 in the middle.

Edit: Addon (5/2/2019), Spelling/Grammar checking

Kalimdor

Much like Eastern Kingdoms and other lands. a new updated phase for the overall continental map will take place. with a burned away Tel’drassil in darkshore but flyable access to Exodar and the Blood Myst Isle.

Northern Kalimdor:
With Warchief Sylvannas Warmachine underway she looks more to consolidate power, and the elves being cut off in Ashenvale from support the tide of battle turns towards the hordes favor. For horde war campaign quest line the focus will be on dealing with rebels be it night elves or their Gilnean allies hiding in the forest. Horde Players will be given a choice to either Use extreme measures to take down the rebels or go against the acting commander in the Ashenvale campaign and just send them packing back to Darkshore. Players choosing to do the latter will receive a -750 rep loss from all horde factions except Pandaren and Tauren

Alliance storyline for the war campaign will be much of creating discord among the Horde ranks. by destroying supplies and starving the horde out of the territory forcing them to push back towards the Barrens and Azshara. At a certain point, Alliance players will be given a choice to make a new stronghold in Darkshore or in the Felwood (now changed to Shadow Wood), Doing so would bring down any reputation those alliance players have with the Cenarion Circle by -5500 as it brings unwanted attention to the area.

Southern Kalimdor:
As the war campaign rages on in patch 8.1.5, Players will see the Zandalari and Kul Tirans get into the fray. With new reinforcements, the Alliance pushes a new offensive on the hordes much unprotected southern front. The fight is brought to Desolace, Feralas, Thousand Needles and Tanaris.

Horde-
The war campaign starts off in Tanaris where The Alliance is making landfall on the eastern reaches. A hefty deal was made with the goblins of Gadgetzen to allow them to dock off their shores. As horde players, you are to find out their plans through subterfuge. once done a direct call will be made in Desolace where the war chief finds a fleet of ships both Kul’Tiran and Night Elf camped on the naga ridden rocks and ruins. Azerite deposits are found and you need to slow down their operations and claim what you can for the horde.

Though best efforts were done. the Kul’Tiran fleet lay waste to Shadowprey village. Horde players follow the ships as they head south to Feralas. In the final part of this war campaign, Camp Ataya will be lost as the night elves gain full control of the western half of Feralas. Feathermoon Stronghold has now become a fortress and new docking port for the Alliance and look to expand to take Thousand needles as well. The campaign ends for now with the player unlocking a new BG.

Alliance-
Shandris Feathermoon is leading offensive with Kul’Tiran Captain Darion Mason, Their plan is to distract the horde on the southeastern half of Kalimdor with but a few old and outdated ships. so if the ships are lost there would be no real damage. While their main objective is to mine Azerite off the coast of Desolace.

You as a player will start in Desolace in 8.1.5, where your orders are to kill any or all surveillance over your activities on the island. eventually, you will be sent to Shadowprey village to disable any safeguards or any defensive weapons they have. Once you return to the ship you grab a canon and join in the firing on the village and force the trolls to flee from the area.

In the final parts of the war campaign. you will help with the reconstruction effort to Feathermoon Stronghold to become Feathermoon Fortress. To make sure the trolls do not think about settling in Feralas. You are sent to destroy the camp Ataya to the north so the horde loses their foothold near the fortress. As a player, you take out any horde resistances before it ends by setting up with Captain Mason to begin engagement in Thousand Needles from their newly acquired camp. Masons Holdfast. Alliance players unlock a new BG.

New Land Features:

World Quests- Update to old zones with the addition of world quests that reward players with Resources, Money and reputation bonuses to a myriad of factions and groups.

Feathermoon Fortress and Exodar- Update in Feralas that sees brand new structures in Feathermoon Stronghold and its renaming to Feathermoon Fortress. As the war effort continues Exodar now comes to join the rest of Kalimdor as it can be accessed via ship or flying.

Masons Holdfast (BG)-
New 40 man raid.
Objective: Kill enemy faction leader. (H: Toh’ra Craghoof, A: Capt Darion Mason)

Horde begins on the northern half on Splithoof Heights as the Centaur has been pushed back by the Kul’Tiran incursion. Alliance has taken over Southsea Holdfast and now have turned it into a makeshift outpost for the alliance.

On each side of the cliffs, there are 3 flags which give benefits to each side. each side acts the same. but can be canceled out if the other faction captures those flags.

Tide Mages / Elemental Shamans - This node is in the back of the camp. after being activated, the support will begin to spend 6 mins to summon an Elite Giant Water or Storm Elemental that will begin to head to the opposing factions base camp by traveling over the water. any opposing faction boats in its path are destroyed. This process can go faster if faction casters help with the summon. (H: Shamans, A: Mages)

Docks- Once this node is activated it spawns 1 boat to take up to 5 people across the waters to the enemy docks. a new boat spawns every 20 seconds after one is launched. this is one way and boats despawn once delivered to the other side. Boats will despawn if they collide with any of the giant elementals summoned so watch out!

Bridge- Once this node is activated it takes 1 minute for the bridge to finish spawning and then drop down for people to cross. this bridge is narrow and is only big enough for people to travel single file. each side gets its own bridge. watch the flow of traffic.

This is a great idea. I like the idea of having this as a BG. I can see this being a good place use their A.I.s as well as real players. I find the island A.I.s to sometimes be challenging. Throw in some spiders and rats to randomly attack all of the players will be good and horrible at the same time. I feel sometimes BGS lack other creatures to stir the pot and make it more interesting.

Also with Alliance pushing north shouldn’t the Horde start cleaning up Ghostlands and putting more guards stations in place? I feel this will also be a way to finally get rid of that portal (so I hope).

I like the bg idea (reminds me of ashran) and I also love the hillsbrad idea. We need more story and lore imo. The story recently feels like stale.

Give me something to be proud of the horde for, let’s take over something again.

I haven’t felt a sense of awe since Cata when they had deathwing ruin a bunch of land which gave it spice. Instead of blizz destroying cities why aren’t we capturing them? I wish blizz would take a few notes from us and implement some ideas for more spice instead of the same bland stories we’ve been experiencing since mists
