My experience teaching 3 new players end game

So over the last month i have been helping 3 friends who have never played wow play the game and get started. So far they have gotteb KSM and AoTC without much isssues and even doing +10s without me consistently.
Why do i say this because i hear so many people saying this game is impossible to learn. And i say thats a lie its a MMO and instead of asking people or just looking things up you just bash your head against bosses and mechanics.
So its not a game issue its a player issue on why the new player experience so.many claim to have is so bad. Just stop being anti social in a MMO and your life will be 500% better in game

Its not both because the game gives you the resources players just dont utilize them and expect the be handheld trough the whole game.

I’m mostly in agreement with your point but… teaching 3 new players, isn’t that essentially holding their hand?

Notice how i said they are doing things without me. I showed them to the end goal and then they did the work and go there. So its not handholding.
When i say handholding people expect the game will do things for you such as interrupts, giving you the perfect groups, let you do any level of content you want without doing the previous difficulty before hand and being carried if you fall behind

After how much time helping?

What did you do to help them?

When you responded to tl4, you focused on the idea that the game had no fault, but you circumvented its own learning process to help these three people.

Huh? I taught them the same way i learned by asking people in game. Its why i said its a MMO not a single player game. Part of learning the game is learning to ask questions to people. But to many people rather blame the game then use the resources the game provides and a big resource is other players. So idk what youre trying to say :stuck_out_tongue:

That tl4 has a point. The game can be terrible at teaching, and people can still be held responsible for not reaching out for the help they need. The game can be held accountable for how much a player needs in terms of outside help.

The game is fine at teaching tho. Because part of the games teaching is learning to ask others. Thats like saying a teacher who is perfect mostly has a class of all A but one student refuses to listen or do the work or ask questions so they fail. Thats not the fault of the teacher but of the student. The teacher can keep doing everything they can to help but if the student refuses to accept that help and fail thats on the student not the teacher

What is the equivalent to the “teacher” in WoW’s case?

As in, when, where and what does the game teach that players are ignoring, leading to not asking folks like you for the help you’re suggesting is essential to the process.

Ok so you obviously wanting to have a discussion in good faith as you know very well that the teacher means the game itself. You are just wanting to troll and try to cause drama. Have a good day troll

I figured you were going to try this, since you’re on an alt but are otherwise a regular. That’s why I added this edit:

I assume I’m not getting an answer because you know there isn’t a good one, right?

The last four times I ran Exile’s Reach, I ran the tutorial dungeon solo. Not by choice.

Sorry but your messages are no longer going to be replied to after this. You are a classic forum troll who doesnt want to engage in good faith discussion. Please have a good day and i hope you become a better person one day.

I don’t always respond to receive a reply from whom I’m responding to. This is one such case.

Your first post on this character is one that shows an awareness of GD’s usual behavior:

Have a good day. I have no clue what kind of person you are, but I’m comfortable with the sort of person I am.

I don’t understand. Why did you help 3 friends when you are at the same time trying to convince us that new players should be able to train themselves to be elites without help?

Not what i said at all but thank you for being dishonest or not reading.
I stated part of learning the game is learning to ask others. The game teaches you this by being a MMO and having a chat feature.

Thank you for clearing this up. The next time someone says the game is impossible, I’ll direct them here.

How much experience did your friends have playing video games prior to this?because my wife had none and i feel like that makes a world of difference in this scenario.
