He’s precious. ;-;
I’m sorry. I hope they can figure out what’s wrong and help him. I hope it’s nothing serious.
Like everyone else, I’m hoping it’s not so serious it can’t be treated. Please let us know!
My dog acted the same way. I took him to the vet and found out he had diabetes. Not sure what caused it, but with insulin I was able to have him around for a few more years before he passed.
Could be a bladder infection, which can have similar symptoms
If your a loving pet owner it’s part of the process, fair or not. Give your dog more love and attention, which is probably needed. Closure is a very hard thing to go thru. It never gets any easier. My way of dealing with the departure, was just going out and giving a new lease on life- to another special companion…It helps divert the pain into loving once again~ gl…peace*
That happened to one of my cats before she passed on. Usually the cause is obesity, poor diet and lack of exercise. I ensured my other cats were eating good quality food after going through that, I calculated precisely the right amount of food they needed and not one bite more. Now my cats are the way a cat should be: lean, healthy and full of energy.
I always make it a point to remind pet owners about their pets diet, it’s so important. Particularly if they spend most of their time indoors, you simply cannot overfeed them. Even when they look cute and they’re begging for food, you have to resist the temptation, it’s for their own damn good.
Well… he has a tumor in his liver… I think I’ll have my family with me on Monday to do it…

He looks so happy even on the way home. I dont know if I can do it
I’m so sorry to hear that. Time for an amazing bucket list.
poor guy… my sympathies.
You’re making the right choice. You don’t want to watch him suffer and deteriorate.
Try to have the best times you can with him this weekend and keep your chin up. Like I said before its not wrong to be real to yourself and cry if you need to. He’s still gonna love you regardless of what you decide. You can make it through this I believe in you.
I’ve been through it a couple of times, I will give you some advice if you’re willing to hear it. It will be difficult but you MUST be strong for him, don’t let him see you upset. You certainly don’t want his last moments to be negative. You have to look at it like he’s going on a new adventure and you’re there to lead him there, he’s going to the land of the spirit dogs. You can do it Valarien.
I’m so sorry. It’s such a hard decision to make, even with all rational evidence pointing to it being the right thing. Just try to focus on making these last few days the happiest you can with him.

Mine went last March. She was the light of my life, and the world is never going to be the same without her. I also keep her ashes on a shelf I built for her along with some puppy photos and her stuffed bunny.
It’s strange how moments of overpowering sadness hit you randomly. I would recommend (if you can
) adopting another from a shelter, one who badly needs a home. It kind of helps and they really appreciate you for the rest of their lives.
While they definitely won’t fill the shoes of the one who is gone, it’s good for you to know that you can help others who desperately need it.
Oh no! We can’t do much but if you need some people to talk to, we’re here.
All pet owners have to go through this sort of thing at one point or another and it never gets any easier.
You just have to make the best decision for your doggo that you can.
Been there. Our dog had to be put down two summers ago. She was part of our family for 15 years. She was just shy of 17 years herself (we got her as a rescue when she was very young).
If your dog is young enough, and depending on the breed, this might be a range of things the vet can treat. We recently had a cat do the same thing, turns out his bladder was blocked and he couldn’t “go”. They had to clear the blockage and give him meds to break up the stuff causing it. He’s only just coming out of the woods after about 3 weeks.
Try and get some good rest this weekend as well. Treat yourself to something nice it will help you during the grieving stages.
Been there before. 2018 for me. My Lab had lung Cancer. Found out in February and just wanted him to make it to the beach one last time on Vacation which was 8 months away.
I did holistic Cancer treatments and they worked longed enough for him to make it that last time! I had to put him to sleep a week after.
This helped me when sent to me back then. Hopefully it helps you.
THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…

What is the dogs name?
So sorry for what you’re going through.
Sorry to hear this, I really am. I know it’s tough. I’ve been there.
