My CRAZY take on MMR or ladder and PvP

This 100%! I’ll vote for percentage based rewards, handed out weekly …turned on 2-3 weeks into the season, with more rewards and titles added between already existing reward cutoffs. I’ll also vote for bracket specific rewards added for 2s, RSS, and blitz. Lastly, an overhauled and revamped LFG would be great.

Call of duty Warzone has a good reward system for ranked play. Once you earn your rank, you have to hold that rank until the end of the season for a cosmetic reward.
All cosmetic rewards are basically the same, just a recolor for the different ranks.

My point with this is to give a gladiator mount to all ranks- just recolor it to differentiate the different ranks. Then change the mount each season :man_shrugging:

Additionally, battle pass like rewards for progress throughout the pvp season would be dope. I know im specifically targeting rewards for pvp and not necessarily offering a solution for the MMR/cr situation, but better/guaranteed rewards would be nice for the player base. Who cares about points when you’re getting rewarded just for playing ranked pvp- I know participation rewards may be bad, but if it increases the pvp player-base, I’m all for it.

Can you lose your rank and then regain it? If that’s the case then I don’t see that helping arena because everyone would just wait to queue until end of season.

Also don’t like the idea of everyone getting a gladiator mount and just recoloring it. The higher the achievement, the better the reward should be in my opinion. Recolor’s are literally the same reward in a different color. I’d be more open to different mount rewards, or perhaps a dragon mount, with increasing baddassery (horns/armor/overall size) unlocked as you achieve new ranks etc.

Participation rewards aren’t a bad idea. They do this each season with the seasonal mounts, but they’ve been pretty lackluster. Also, you can get them from any bracket. I’d like to see unique participation rewards for each bracket each season. Something like:

100 2v2 games won in pvp season 2
or
50 games won in blitz in pvp season 2
or
200 games won in RSS in pvp season 2.

You guys are over thinking it. Just log in and all rewards should be granted instantly.

Many changes they’ve implemented recently came, unironically, from this forum.

It’d sure be cool if we could transfer conquest directly to alts instead of via rng boxos.

I’m FINALLY on vacation, might probably make an enh alt although I’m skeptical.

Enh seems to be alright atm but it might get gutted soon and the spec will be thrown back to its righteous place among the mushroom tier specs lol

Enh is in a weird spot because it’s broken beyond comprehension in PVE which makes it a prime candidate for a PVE nerf that spills over heavily to PVP but they’ve somehow avoided that so far.

It has been fine so far and both ele and enh are a cozy time so I’d go for it the class is usually fun

We badly need more participation in pvp. Seems like you’re a little oblivious to this fact, or at minimum you could provide these alternatives or links to all these better ideas.

I like the idea. Cap rating max at a number like 3K, 5K, or 10K and give rewards at various intervals. That would actually bring casuals back to PVP and make things fun again. I feel that hardcore PVPers are all that’s left.

Look, I don’t care if 1 person gets glad or 10000 people get it.

I don’t care if it’s at 1600 or 3600.

I DO care about participation and game health & fun, though, and I REALLY don’t think that making rewards free does anything for participation. All it does is make people get their rewards and stop Qing sooner, because it’s not something that so many people care about.

The real mystery is, how someone goes from challenger/rival caliber late in an expansion’s last season, to be a permaglad from the next expansion onwards :thinking:

Just observations that I’m starting to make. Sometimes you see a clear path of steady improvement, but other times you see huge leaps in a short period of time which makes you wonder.

Sure. Sometimes players (like swole) try to buy an RMT glad boost. Other players focus on improving and learning from their gameplay!

The most successful growth among players are usually those who just ask for help and focus on what they can do better!

So what would u think of someone being rival and below on the last season of an expansion and becoming glad season 1 of the next expansion?
