Is it still true that you need to be Horde to be competitive at RBG? I’m having a very difficult time even finding an Alliance cross-realm PvP community.
Not a requirement, but definitely helps. If I were you, didn’t have friends to play with and really wanted to climb in PvP I would absolutely faction and probably server change depending on where you’re at.

No, you need to be a Night Elf and Shadowmeld at any and every opportunity
that depends. what really matters is finding smart people. if u can get a group that can follow directions and perform your fine. racials matter in arena but in a bg its how u play to benefit others.

What’s your definition of competitive?
I climbed to 1815 in a few weeks on alliance, yoloing up to like 1400 then making sure to join groups at my CR using voice from there.
Usual pattern was win 2 games, lose 1 cuz our MMR is so high, and repeat.
Most of the teams we face in rbgs are Horde. Very few ally ones.
