A friend earlier today gifted me Dragonflight base edition so i could come back to the game and tank for our group of friends. So, i logged into my account and claimed it.
However, I had another friend who had the same plan, gift me the game and have me come back and tank, gift me the EPIC edition.
Is there a way I can refund the base edition of the game to the first friend?? There has to be something to be done…is this possible?
Okay! but does that lock my account by refunding it if i’ve already claimed it? like i said i claimed it first thing in the morning but then after work, like HOURS hours later, i claimed the other one completely forgetting about the first one
I would think gifted licenses would work the same as if you had bought them yourself. That is to say, if you claim the epic edition gift, the friend that gifted it to you would only be charged the difference between the base edition and the epic edition.
So Friend A gifts you the base edition and is charged $49.99 (plus tax). Friend B gifts you the epic edition and is charged $40.00 (plus tax) because you already have the base edition.
Hopefully that would be the case…otherwise, yeah, id definitely need to refund one of them because i dont want to have one of my friends get screwed over!
Not sure whats going on/gonna happen but i certainly dont want my account banned cause it gets “refunded” but im sure customer service can CLEARLY see I’ve had two accounts gift me two very different versions of the game, and obviously, I’m trying to keep the EPIC one.
They wouldn’t ban you for such a thing. I’ve seen individual characters locked, rarely is it an account-wide thing. The only time I’ve seen it be an entire account is when there has been an issue due to a chargeback. But whether it’s down to a character or somehow even an account lock, it is a fairly easy remedy for what we’ve seen in the past.
