I still find multibox groups occasionally in areas that are good for mat farming people don’t talk about it as much because the areas that can be farmed are maybe more numerous and less likely to be seen?
Because it was cheating. The only people who multiboxed were bad scumbags who needed god mode to play WoW.
Can you still use multiboxing to solo mythic plus? No.

It was never considered “cheating” by Blizzard. That’s why it’s still allowed and still not against the rules.
The only thing that changed was the rules. They now have this line in them:
use of all software or hardware mechanisms used to mirror commands to multiple World of Warcraft accounts at the same time, or to automate or streamline multiboxing in any way may result in account penalties.
But Blizzard has never said that they changed the rules because they felt it was cheating. You can certainly feel that it was cheating, but that’s your own opinion.

So that guy with 5 mice all taped together trying to get it all to fire off at the same time mechanically is still violating the rules.
I’d argue that the line about “streamlining” gameplay for multiboxing would be the rule they’re violating.
The hardware piece was more aimed towards KVM switches and Wireless receivers that could allow multiple keyboards to work in unison or a single keyboard to send signals to multiple computers.
It was cheating.
No need to learn anything. In the form it was in, it’s gone. Period. Good riddance.

yeah, I mean more a technical violation because of how that is worded.
Im curious why blizzard didnt just limit the number of accounts being boxed by any one player instead of how extreme they responded.
almost feels like that hunter pet spec thing all over where it wasnt actually a game wide issue, but more someone at blizzard got snuffed by a boxer and they over reacted…again.
It was cheating. It is cheating. Using software is banned. It doesn’t matter what additional commentary you have about it, the fact remains, it is now a bannable practice and rightfully so. IDC if Blizz ever specified a specific reason for the ban or not. End of story.

There’s no “splitting hairs.” Multiboxing wasn’t banned, nor is it cheating. Automation software and hardware was banned, because it’s botting.

Clearly someone needs to explain to him that ‘cheating’ is defined by the game maker…not players. lol
There is a box version of a game i have that literally has optional rules that allow cheating if the player can get away with it. If hes caught, there is a penalty, But cheating in that mode is literally allowed.
the GAME MAKER defines what cheating is…not Solitude.
And it’s real damn amusing how the moment this happened, multibox stopped.
