Multiboxing wasn't the issue

Want to stimulate the economy and keep multi boxing botters from ruining it? Just change nodes/herb spawns to have one use before despawn.

Wrong. MBing was an issue. It isn’t anymore. Now, bots by themselves are issues. Need more clarification?

In what way ?
one is against the rules the other is not.
One requires the player to be playing, other does not
One is used by gold sellers and other thieves, other is not.
One is horrible for the game, other is not.

Wrong, multiboxing was never an issue as it was a very rare practice, the chances of most players bumping into a multiboxer was slim to none. Bots have been a problem since release and will continue to be, every ban wave they ban multiple times the amount of total accounts used for multiboxing.

both are toxic for regular players
both abuse game mechanics such hyperspawn and node limit
both do it for massive gold gains
both mess the economy in different proportions but considerable enough for blizz to take action
both handle multiple accounts at the same time using software
both do it for personal gain , gold reselling , market dominance , monopoly
both are cheaters to the majority of the community
both impact negatively the game for all
both are equally hated

Wrong!

opinion.

so do groups of players farming together ?

Sign you know nothing of multiboxing, gold gains, that’s a good one, they also spend x times as much as a single character player.

And yet, 0 times has Blizzard taken action against multiboxers for abusing the economy (but botters it’s daily)

not anymore, multiboxers cannot do that within the rules of the game.

again showing your ignorance of multiboxing as nobody multiboxes for those reasons (plus it would be really hard to maintain the characters and do that)

they are wrong.

conjecture, and wrong.

Most of the multiboxing hate (if not all) comes from a place of ignorance mixed with some weird self righteousness about how it’s “wrong” for reasons that don’t actually exist because, as you said, it’s not as easy as they think.

I’ve had people go out of their way to message me and tell me to kill myself when I was out questing which is the only thing I boxxed aside from instanced PvE content.

Which is the other thing that gets me. I 5 boxxed with copies of the game I got when they went on sale for dirt cheap. That’s the biggest cost outlay aside from a computer that is not a potato, but who playing WoW doesn’t have that. Other than that it’s $60 a month.

At times when I was spending that $60 a month that was my entire entertainment budget for the entire month. No other games played or purchased. No trips. No going out to eat. Making $10 an hour if I was lucky to have a job at all some times. So I’d spend $60 that month and attempt to 5 box some stuff until I got bored because it distracted me from how I couldn’t really do anything I wanted to really do.

You can still get silenced, that ‘feature’ is automatic and happens before a GM can review what happened. And you can bet it won’t be reviewed until the default time frame has already run its course, so a multi botter could absolutely lock you out of group content for a day on a whim.

so could a random raid group. jerks exist all over the place.
And the automatic one is a ‘squelch’ not a silence.

Still prevents you from forming a group. I apologize for not using the correct word, but you still got my point. And sure, a raid group could. But, you can bet its a whole ton easier for Captain Multibotter to sick his swarm on a person than it would be to organize a raid group to do so.

If someone is yammering none stop in Trade Chat, I can just as easily log on each of my alts and report 'em. This is a nonissue.

not anymore as they would need to click in each instance of WoW to do it.

Multi boxing and botting is an issue. /shrug

Okay, show me where I said it, then. You said:

with no way to support the claim.

Go ahead and backpedal some more, tell us again how you’re just speaking in generalities, and your remarks shouldn’t be taken literally.

Critical thinking doesn’t appear to be your strong suit.

I was taking issue with your unfounded claim that the majority agrees with you. At no point did I assert the opposite opinion.

I offered ways to support it and the apologists don’t want to agree with it. The very thread announcing the change should be evidence enough, but for w/e reason, you guys want to claim that THAT isn’t sufficient. Keep moving the goal post.

lol. And here come the personal insults. Got it.

No he doesn’t, he operates multiple accounts at the same time using the same command for all of them. The amount of effort doesn’t increase with the number of accounts. Multiboxing is not the same as having alts.

Looks like they learned from the “best:”

You just described using broadcast software which is what was banned.
Now have to click in each individual window.

Used to be : click key and broadcast it to all instances of WoW.
Now : tab etc. to each instance and click / press hotkey etc.

Keep in mind I could have 4 instances of WoW running and you would never know when I switched as I use all 4 screens with a high speed gaming mouse maxed dpi for work with different things on each.

I still see bots every time I go out to farm anima

(which is truthfully less and less often as I play less and less)

so whatever they are doing to fight botters is not working.
