Multiboxing positivity

This sounds a bit wrong so I just want to clarify that the characters on follow don’t copy what the player does, they do what the player tells them to do. The difference is that if the characters were to simply copy what I do then that means I’d only have to do it on my main character and the others would follow suit but that’s not the case.

If you want to turn in a quest on everyone you have to tell your team to interact with target, then an addon like AutoTurnIn or AzerothAutoPilot or EMA handles the autocomplete quest portion. If they simply were copying then I could just turn in the quest on my main and the others would follow suit.

Same with gathering, I have to broadcast a click or interact with mouseover keybind to all my characters, I can’t just gather an herb and they all gather the herb.

How is this any different than a script doing the same thing? Broadcasting the click on a certain position on the screen to fulfill w/e objective you have set.

When I say broadcast a click what happens is you hit a key combination and the cursor pops up on all the screens and then you move the mouse to where you want and click. So the difference would be I’m in control of every part of the process

You’re controlling the click for one character. Not the others.

Not when you are broadcasting, the cursor is up on all the screens, it’s not broadcasting like “hey guys I clicked this point on my screen, do the same” It’s a simultaneous click on x windows.

You can see exactly how it works here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoG_JeuI4Fo

The cursor doesn’t go away if you are botting. It’s on the screen to. The only difference is the player and the script.

I don’t know anything about botting :man_shrugging: I just assume that with bots there is no player present like you said.

I’m a bit confused as to what you’re trying to say here. Are you saying that there is no difference between what happens when someone is botting and when someone is multiboxing? Assuming of course the bots aren’t using things like speed hacks to go 600% faster or fly hacks or noclip hacks to move through the ground. Then yeah of course because we all do the same actions but that would also apply to single character use as well.

What’s the difference between a person botting 1 character and playing 1 character? All the actions are the same

I got a second account for my daughters many years ago. When they stopped playing. I had started leveling by having a healer not in party following along so I could just hit one button from time to time to heal my other toon. Then I started to play both side by side. My left laptop moves with buttons and my right moves with mouse. I put all the similar spells in the same basic order so that I can basically be hitting 1234 etc. with each hand. I don’t use the multiboxing software. I also use double mounts. I can do quests and world elites much more easily than with only one character, but don’t go into dungeons with two at once or PVP. I really dislike playing with only one character now unless in dungeons or PVP. It also means I generally choose more passive skills. Energy classes like rogues and monks are more difficult.

I loved the tank pally and disc priest combo, but moved the pally to other account, so now priest is with warrior, which is also good. Arcane mage and hunter are easy to play with a couple of fingers while InFocus on the other toon. I think I will be playing DK and Elem shaman as first team in shadowlands. I used a boost on this toon, but may not play it as I have each class at max and also had two boosts to use, so have 14 120s. I know I should get multiboxing software, but after many years playing this way, I’m fairly good at it. Also my various teams have some RP aspects to them.

You want people to make you feel good about something that actively allows you to dominate the economy and make the lives of other gatherers worse?

That’s going to be a yikes from me, dawg.

I don’t consider this multiboxing. This is one dude physically playing 2 accounts. If you use software to control more than 1 account to participate in dungeons pvp and steal gathering nodes then I’d have an issue. But physically using your hands to play 2 games at once is different than using your hands to play 1 game and have it mimiced and copied to the other accounts.

So you’d be fine with someone playing 10 accounts and not using any software to control them and alt tabbing through all 10 accounts and gathering the herb? What’s the difference? You don’t like the efficiency?

I don’t do this outside of ganking RP griefers but people still want to take away my playstyle.

I would be fine with 10 accounts alt tabbing or someone having 10 arms. You would be physically playing each game. No I don’t see software as a 10 arm extension. No i’m fine with efficiency just not cheating.

I don’t do it at all lol, I hate pvp and I don’t multibox gather lol

Alright then

The difference is he built up a skill to play 2 accounts while you use a botting program to bot your other characters.

I used my 4 accounts for RP. It is really fun to lay out a storyline for others, and the extra characters allow you to control the arc and fine tune it as it grows.

It was personally fun, and to those in the know, when one of my characters would turn to the other and say: “I didn’t know that” /lol/

Boxing is great fun. Very fiddly, but if you like that sort of thing, fun.

I also hate PvP but it’s not uncommon to go to RP events outside of Silvermoon and have a couple PvP flagged trolls disrupting them. Many RPers don’t PvP and are powerless to stop it. But I can de-stealth on my hunters and both chase and intimidate them away. They typically don’t come back.

You’re on the wrong RP server then.
