Except multiboxing players aren’t pushing to get singleboxers banned or anything like that.
Only one side can’t seem to stay in their own lane.

I’m my few months here on the forums, my opinion on multiboxing has changed. It’s because I listen.
I used to despise multiboxers because my only experience with them was being ganked by them in world PvP. It tainted my entire perspective of who they are, what they do, and why they do it.
After reading threads about it, I still don’t understand the appeal, but I don’t have to. It’s just about respecting that people play the game that way. I was educated in being informed that multiboxing has a lot more purpose and reason than just world PvP.
Will I advocate for it? Meh. You do you.
But I don’t see the point in actively moving against it.

Exactly.
I dont MB farm.
Boxers dont bother me at all…but non boxers certainly have.
we need to ban griefers if anything.
“multiboxing is not cheating nor does it break any rules set forth by Blizzard.”
Yes. It is a grey area, and is tolerated by Blizzard explicitly.
“multiboxing and botting are not the same thing, they have almost nothing in relation with each other. I’ve never actually met a multiboxer who bots.”
Unless you use follow, and actually move each toon on their own, multiboxers use BOTS to duplicate movements. They use 3rd party softwares to streamline the movement to counter the lag in between so the druids can stay clustered and not be stuck. This is a fact most multiboxers try to deny and hide. Since it is a bot that does not actually play the game for you all on its own, it is tolerated by Blizzard, and of course the extra accounts help.
“multiboxers actually help server economies and drive the prices down of materials down to an affordable rate for the average player.”
Another misleading statement. Multiboxing denies legitimate players the ability to farm and earn gold normally. Having one multiboxer in Naz effectively exhausts most of the nodes, forcing even herbalists to buy from AH, as they will not be able to access the nodes. Thus, multiboxers destroys the economy, and if multiboxers are not that greedy, they would attract less flak in the first place.
“multiboxing is a very different and fun way to play the game. It’s not for everyone, but nothing is for everyone.”
There is nothing a multiboxer actually do that is not at the expense of every other player on the server. It may be fun for you, but it will only be fun for you.
It is easy to fall in love with getting more and doing less by exploiting the game using tolerated botting.
Of course most boxers will not share the bots and scripts they use to make the alt accounts get orphaned or stuck less. It is a selfish act in itself.
I have no idea how deluded you are to actually believe that anyone will buy that “being a selfish ahat in the server is actually not that bad” story.
You are the rare few who would actually be fun to encounter in a bg.
As for “who cant the single players leave multiboxers without hate”; the answer is simple : if blizzard can make nodes such that so a 15 toon stacked druid multiboxer cannot exhaust it in one go, most single players would not even care.
Even if multiboxers destroy the herb economy, as long as I can herb for my own uses, tbh I would not care about the multiboxers at all.
My city here has always been very peaceful. Odd for the size that it is, but we have a very diverse population and one of the largest LGBT communities in the united states. That seems to have made it so we’re all just use to everyone being different from ourselves, so we all pretty much have always gotten along.
Ive felt no fear in expressing who I support or who Im against.
Im conservative and actually golf with a guy who is as far left as you can get without being violent.
And thats the point…without being violent.
He and I joke about politics for a four hour golf round even though we’re so polar opposite on many issues. You’d think we’d be swinging golf clubs at each other with what we each believe, lol.If you cant let someone else have thier own political views…or otherwise…the reason is that deep down inside you question your own and are full of fear that youre wrong.
The reason this guy and I dont argue is Im VERY confident in my views…and he is VERY confident in his. We dont feel threatened by the other over our own lack of conviction of our own beliefs, so we can be very good friends and not have any of the problems the weak minded sort do.
I am not saying this doesn’t happen. I have friends on the right and the left and we all get along fine. But, from what I’ve seen on the news, videos on youtube and livestreams like people kidnapping a white kid for being white, tying him to a toilet and torturing him daily to people throwing drinks filled with cement in them to full blown riots from the left, they are the craziest and most dangerous at the moment.
I’m not saying the right don’t do messed up things either. They do. But, not to this extreme that I’ve seen over the last 4 years.
I don’t farm at all. Multiboxing is how I level because I enjoy the extra challenge of playing several toons at once.
I multibox and level all the time, whether in open world questing or running myself through dungeons. What challenge is there about broadcasting keystrokes and killing easy mobs and bosses? There’s no challenge to multibox leveling… at… all… like literally, zero.
No challenge to get 4 to 7 toons following you every where go. I do it every day, there’s no challenge to it… at… ALL.
My thing is this… all multi boxer use some kind of software to help control all of the instances at once, help follow, etc. I do not agree with that aspect. If you wanted to multi box and didn’t need software to help I would be fine w/ that. I’ve seen multi boxers and they use KVMs and use stuff to help their followers chase their lead toon.
The only “positive” thing about multiboxing is how positively obvious it is that it’s bad for the game and other players at large. The fact that it is a grey area allowance by Blizzard doesn’t change the numerous negative aspects.

absolutely agree.
We can ALL see which side is committing pretty much all the violence these days.
Kinda reminds me of the history books from over a 150 years ago when certain groups tried to use violence to push politics on everyone else

huh. really? I see boxers all the time and I have no problem farming everything I need. When I want Zin I have actually hit what I believe was probably every node in the zone. No one caused me any problems.
I sell my stuff every day for at least what Id expect to get.
you sure this aint a ‘you’ problem?
what do you smoke dude? pass some pls
multiboxing and botting are not the same thing, they have almost nothing in relation with each other.
Nice joke!
Cancel culture? lol wtf REALLY are you smoking dude. LMAO

you all are the ones screaming about gold youre not making…or someone else IS making, guy…not me.
Cancel culture? lol wtf REALLY are you smoking dude. LMAO
Reading comprehension really is a thing, dude.
why would i be positive about people doing gamebreaking cheesy stuff and ruining my gameplay
Hey admins…can we get a downvote back?
Going to try and share some information that might help people understand.
Topic: Multi-Boxing vs. Automation (Botting)
Points of Interest:
There seems to be a bit of confusion going on in regards to what the difference is between multi-boxing and botting. Hopefully I can help clear some of that misinformation up and explain how they might be similar and how they might be different.
As someone that does support multi-boxing, I’m going to try and do my best to keep this as subjective as possible.
While it is true that multi-boxing and botting does make use of third party software. What that third party software does in the game is where the issue rests.
Please keep in mind that you can multi-box without third party software. The software used just makes things a bit more manageable.
Please also keep in mind that different people multi-box for different reasons. With that being said, the reason why someone may multi-box should be looked at instead of assuming they are doing it for whatever misconceptions that might be in place.
Let’s get into the meat and drink of this now huh?
What is Botting?
It’s the use of a third party program that uses a script(s) to play the game for the player.
What does that mean? It means that a person starts up a program and loads up list of things that they want the program to do for their character(s). In other words, they load up something so the game plays itself.
Unless there is an outside influence, the game can continue to play even if the person falls asleep or goes out for a night on the town.
What is multi-boxing?
It’s the use of a third party program that allows the player to play multiple characters at one.
What does that mean? Assuming that the player is using multiple accounts. It’s making use of third party software that allows for the player to group up and manage a number of personal accounts.
Unlike botting, a multi-boxer has to be at the helm. The setup doesn’t allow for the game to play itself.
To make the picture easier to imagine. Imagine the third party program being a router and each account is a device connected to that router.
I hope that this little bit helps to at least clear up some confusion as to the difference between multi-boxing and botting.
We understand all of this. Mult-botting and botting are the same thing.
Multiboxing
The player plays one character and the other bots in the group follow and copy what the player does. No one is controlling the other toons. They follow commands from the third party program. This allows the characters to be played through the third party program.
Botting
The player tells the character what to do through a third party program and doesn’t play the character but allows the character to be played through the program.
The only difference is botting eliminates the need for the player for the main character. The rest is the same.
