Multiboxing is pay 2 win. Ban it now

god ur bad

The 3 I saw were completely dominating the area they were in so yes I would say its a big deal with a multi boxer is pulling every devilsaur in the world at the same time as multi box’d druids

Nope. You’re sending single key-presses to multiple clients. Not at all botting. Botting would be if the game is running, and your character is moving and you’re not home.

It takes more skill to multi box decently than it does to play just 1 character decently, no matter what that takes knowledge of all of the classes he has in his combo. Besides, a GOOD player should be able to disrupt a multi boxer very easily. Go for the leader or especially use a fear bomb on the team that messes them up the most.

per client

I suggest you reread what I posted as this comes directly from Blue’s vocabulary.

Hey genius, it’s not 3 out of millions. It’s 3 out of a couple dozen players that he saw in one day. Extrapolated to the entire population, that could be many thousands.

realistically op isnt wrong, hes just annoying. Its pretty clearly a grey area thats been given a pass. But its hardly a problem.

Honestly? After you’ve played a few of those actual p2w games, you realize how trivial the edge running a few more copies of the game is in comparison. It gets really hard to call that p2w at all.

Also, if Blizzard had any interest in blocking multiboxing, they could easily do so by restricting the number of connections per IP. They could make it so that only one or two battle.net accounts can enter the same realm at the same time per IP. Additionally, they could ban VPN users (if they don’t already do that) Do you know why they don’t do that? Because not only it would prevent players from playing with friends from the same network, but also, because multiboxing gives too little an edge to be actually relevant.

How do you know?

How many multiboxers have you seen?

What software are they using?

Guess you could say that streamers also have an advantage by being able to stream.
For example, if you look at Asmongold the alliance on his server will hand him over items/gold ect whenever he ask for it. Also, Asmongold has been known to be able to get multiple pvp raids within minutes to attack the horde and the horde cities.

Is that fair to others because he has an “advantage” they don’t have?

That’s because multiple logins on the same account costs Blizz money.

Most bitting doesn’t even require any input as it automated everything for you. But the key difference is that per client (running instance) you can only have one key press per action. Every action that each character takes is initiated by a keypress. Nothing that a character does is automated, but is the result of a single key press from the player.

What if I get my extra potato computer instead of running 2 WoW clients on 1 machine?

No more of an advantage than bringing friends with you to a fight. The reason why i am tempted to do it is simply because i have crippling anxiety. I literally get nauseous when im tasked with forming a group and physically twitch if more than 1 piece of loot drops that i can roll on, torn between getting the upgrade and not wanting to be a loot prostitute.
Others do it for convenience, so they dont have to bother finding a group, still others (those that run different classes or specs) do it so they can be of maximum value to their guild.
There are explanations other than simply wanting to grief people in pvp.

That would be a particular case of botting, you have different kinds of bots, heal bot, follow bot, whatever-bot. You don’t have to controll it, just make it follow you and when you press “X” it heals you, magic.

Imagine leveling some warrior with such “not-bot” always behind your back healing on demand? Totally not an advantage

You’re doing exactly that, simulating living people playing the game, with those clients.

Technically his advantage is basically exploring the social aspect of the game and his influence to organize a big following of players. But they’re all actual individual World of Warcraft players. His power isn’t that different, for example, from a super influent guild leader (except for the obvious difference in numbers).

I know it’s a whole different beast, but EvE online for example is a game literally built on those influence aspects with their corporation system

Here is a question for all you that want Multiboxing outlawed, do you use a wireless keyboard or mouse ? if so multiboxing software does no more or less you can accomplish with those two device and multiple usb devies in multiple computers.
As multiboxing software mearly mimics what hardware can do , if you ban it then you need to ban the hardware that can do the same thing (aka wireless keyboards and mice)

Not gray at all. Blizzard explicitly allows it and has explained why on the forums more than once. Like I said, it ain’t going anywhere.

/facepalm. Your argument was this was fine for 15 years so Blizzard would never change it. From TBC to late Legion. AT was fine.

So much wrong in this tear-filled cry for help.

Sure, you may get one-shotted every now and then, but multi-boxed characters are highly vulnerable to coordinated attacks. Get them separated, and they’re worse than a group of terrible players.

So they can farm dungeons effectively. They also have many more slots to gear-up. Classes that can solo dungeons have it better off as they have much less gear to upgrade. Should they be banned too?

I’ve enjoyed multi-boxing in the past, but choose not to now. For me it’s optimal to worry about one character as the play style is much more relaxing.

The majority of Classic WoW players are employed adults. Do you really think that they couldn’t afford multiple WoW accounts?

Now it’s about class warfare?

In the same post that you’re demanding Blizzard to ban multi-boxing, you accuse them of shady/corrupt business practice. Smart.

You seem like you can make enough noise for the rest of us. Thanks!
