Yes and so is a group of players unfair against other players that play fewer numbers. As we’ve discussed and you don’t want to acknowledge that a larger number of players outnumbering by a factor of 5 to 1 is still unfair. It’s still an advantage no matter how you view it regardless of whether or not multiboxing is involved.
ive already proven this as a logical fallacy. its fair because players in game can group up without having to pay more money per month.
because its not. players can freely group up as much as they want and those that dont will lose to those that do
multiboxing is an advantage because one player gains the benefits of a group without having to group up and instead pays more money
Ok. Forget fairness in Pvp. How about server load. On a server that regularly had 4 hour queues, you’re taking up 40 slots. How is that fair? How does preventing 39 other people from playing make you “an asset to the community?”
Incorrect analogy because it’s still an advantage. The higher number wins the battle when it’s by a factor of 5 to 1. It’s still not fair and it’s by design that way. Muiltiboxing fits right into the design of the MMORPG.
but its not an unfair advantage. paying more money than someone else to gain an advantage is unfair. imagine if gameplay ability was directly proportional to how much you paid. who would want to play that game?
its fair because thats how life is. more people means more power. when you artificially increase your people by paying more money, thats what unfair
Several points:
Live streaming was happening with 40 accounts prior to the Corona situation during the months of January and February. There were no queues. After Corona got worse and social distancing was placed in then the queues went high.
Secondly 40 slots in a queue takes about 40 seconds to clear. Try it on a server that has queues and you’ll see that.
Thirdly the gaming company recognized the issue with the queues as being from Corona and placed layers back in. Then when the numbers settled again the layers were removed.
Your attempt to blame multiboxers for something related to a pandemic makes absolutely no sense at all.
does multiboxing happen in any other game on the same level it does in wow? because to my knowledge it doesn’t and i think that’s very interesting and telling
as to the quality of the games
Multiboxing is part of the life of MMORPGs so says the gaming company. Get over it because you were proven wrong.
i cant prove what you believe to be right wrong. what you hold there is an opinion.
Look at Everquest. Look at FFXIV. Look at games that have tab targeting with the /follow command. You’ll find a huge amount of them. In fact with Everquest players present their multiboxing class team make-up and ask for ideas and players help them. Go over to their forums and check for yourself.
If you’re a never boxer, you wouldn’t know that per capita Everquest has vastly more multiboxers than WoW does!
I’m not blaming you for it. I’m saying your 40 accounts made it worse. How long 40 people takes to clear is irrelevant. I sat through 4 hour queues on Faerlina multiple times while you were running around with 40 accounts making the queue significantly worse. In a 400 person queue… you made up 10% of it. That’s ridiculous.
But can I assume that when queues inevitably come back to Faerlina you wont be logging in, "for the community? "
You seem to think repetition is proof. Or that it’s a convincing argument. That’s not a new idea. The first person recorded saying, “I tell you once. I tell you twice. What I tell you three times is true.” was Scheherazade in 1001 Arabian Nights. C. S. Lewis said the same in The Hunting of the Snark. “Just the place for a Snark! I have said it thrice: What I tell you three times is true.”
But those are fairy tales meant for children. Some day you might grow up and realize how ridiculous you are.
I’ve read these post responses extensively and I have to say, Prepared’s responses have been respectful, logical, and demonstrate a willingness to listen and be patient, despite enduring many personal attacks.
Much respect and kudos to this guy.
With regards to everybody in this thread: World of Warcraft is a game about characters. Every character has the same opportunity to impact the game as every other character. A group of five characters has the same opportunity to impact the game as any other five characters. Whether those 5 characters are 1 individual person, or 5 seperate people, makes no difference, as the characters themselves are not different, and the framework of the game they operate in is not different.
This game is a character versus character game.
With that said, most would agree that 5 individual people have more mental capacity and physical aptitude than a single person. This is why it is widely known that 5 people playing 5 characters is superior versus 1 person play 5 characters. Blizzard themselves have acknowledged this multiple times.
Some people have different playstyles, seek out different challenges, and play games differently. This is the same in life, as well. This is why we have mages, warriors, dual boxers, hunters, guild tanks, solo healers, etc.
Just because a playstyle isn’t one you personally agree with, or even understand, does not mean it is wrong.
Tolerance in life’s details is just as important for you as it is for society around you. This extends to everything, including games.
It is relevant because you wanted to discuss it! You mentioned the number 40 in fact! Do you want to go back to your original post or did you forget?
Your argument doesn’t hold up and it’s addressed already. There is no queue on the server after layers were put back in. The queues were created by the pandemic but specifically social distancing for it.
Confirmation bias or lies? Only you know for sure.
characters dont pay $15/month (or more), players do. human beings that push the buttons do.
its explicitly not. its player versus player.
there is no expectation to tolerate a pay to win system in a game designed to accomodate old school mmorpg values
It takes a lot longer than a couple seconds for a long queue to clear 40 people, but its irrelevant because the point is you’re taking up the game space of 40 people. If every person on the server had 40 accounts like you, you’d only be able to fit a hundred actual players on each server. Clearly that’s not improving the game.
Queues werent caused by the pandemic. There were queues at the start o P4 just like there were at launch, p2, p3 and like there will be in P5, when I can only assume you will be once again taking up the space of 40 people because “you’re an asset to the community.”
He was referring to the in-game world. What battles each other are avatars (characters). The fantasy world that you log into contains characters. In order to enter that world you pay in real world money which is what you’re bringing up.
And that’s a good point because it goes to show that a group is paid by the same amount of money regardless of how they are controlled.
and a 400 person queue is like a 5 min. wait to get into game.
