At this point I’m still just waiting to hear your reason as to why you’re so vocal about it, given you’re not a multiboxer so have no reason to defend it in that regard. The only other rational reason is, again, that you’re just bored and looking to argue because it’s fun.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess you don’t pay for your own subscription. I’m assuming this because most people who don’t see the ramifications in something usually don’t have to worry about it themselves and take it for granted (e.g. if you don’t pay for your own subscription, you’re less inclined to see the actual value of it).
It’s like a Drama Time story I heard where there was this 10 year old GM of a leveling guild who didn’t understand the concept or necessity of a “job” and would give his guild members crap for being at work instead of on the game leveling.
pay more money? How? The multiboxer pays the same amount as all group members do. If the multiboxer is playing say 5 accounts then he pays exactly the same as all group members. And the group still has an advantage over one person playing one account that isn’t in a group.
You have the power of five characters for five characters. No single character has anymore power than any other single character with similar equipment.
Comparing 5 charcters being multi-boxed against 5 characters being played by friends, family, guild or whatever the multi-boxed characters are at a significant disadvantage.
People keep saying P2W, exactly what is the multi-boxer winning compared to any other 5 charcters that play as a group? You aren’t going to multi-box in high level raids, that would be obnoxiously difficult. You aren’t going to mutil-box in high level PvP, that would also be very difficult.
So what is the multi-boxer winning? 5 on 1 PvP? But all 5 on 1 should result in the 5 winning, at least most of the time. In fact with a 5 on 1 multiboxing team it is more likely that 1 or 2 players could take the team down.
This is because of WoW tokens. People multibox and farm in BfA and buy tokens. Each subscription entitles them to a WoW Classic account.
Fair enough.
No this is a bad analogy. It would be more akin to people saying the mere existence of varsity teams is unfair because they didn’t make the cut by putting in the time, effort, and money to train.
I can tell you it took my 3 mages the same amount of time to ding 31 as it took my warrior to ding 33 because of those &%*^ing gathering quests.
That’s a personal choice. You can’t whine about how it’s unfair that you’re unwilling to make a choice.
So you want to compare the multiboxer to one person playing one account then? You’re still not passed that? It appears you still don’t understand that a group of players still has an unfair advantage over one person playing one account. You indicated ‘no’ that a group doesn’t have an unfair advantage over one person playing one account. Can you explain how the group doesn’t? The group can clear a dungeon where one player cannot. A group can kill in terms of PvP easily more than one player can. The group has an unfair advantage over one person playing one account that isn’t group. Can you see that? You must understand that basic fundamental before we go on to other parts of the discussion.
yeah its a personal choice ive made to not gain an unfair advantage over other players, just like its a personal choice for other players to pay $60 a month to have a clearly defined unfair advantage over other players.
There’s no “unfair advantage”, friend. Everyone is free to play multiple accounts if they so choose. That you have chosen not to does not make it “unfair” that other people have.
But the game revolves around characters and groups of characters will always outperform individual characters. The multi-boxer supports multiple characters so he/she needs say five times the money, equipment, etc. for a 5 character group.
No you did not. You didn’t explain the difference between a group leader directing a team in a dungeon and how that is different from a multiboxer or pay-to-win situation. By the way you can scroll up as this has already all been discussed. You’re not addressing anything new.
Exactly so if a group of characters outperform individual characters and that the grouped characters whether multiboxed or not has an unfair advantage over one character, where is the issue?
Being able to afford multiple gaming setups/accounts for essentially a hobby simply comes down to a matter of choice?
Really?
It took me the better part of a year to be able to comfortably afford a decent PC upgrade. Should’ve just “chosen” to not pay the bills/rent for a while and just get the PC. Silly me.
Buddy, your real life financial issues are no one else’s business or responsibility. In 20 years of computing, this year I was finally in a position to be able to build my first actual real gaming PC. I never once whined or complained that it was unfair that people with higher FPS had an advantage over me. I just dealt with it. Because that’s life and ultimately no one is responsible for my situation except me.
If you don’t have a spare $15 every month, you have serious issues in life and should probably not play any computer games until you get it sorted out.
