Multiboxing = Cheating

In what way do you think it is detrimental to the “health of the game”? Be explicit.

It’s been allowed for over 15 years now.

Multiboxing, or playing multiple World of Warcraft accounts at once, is not a violation of our Terms of Use. We do not support multiboxing tools.

The “do not support” deal only means they won’t help you with any problems.

This isn’t some loophole that you’ve cleverly discovered. If Blizzard didn’t want people using multiboxing software, they would have explicitly stated that it wasn’t allowed at all.

And look at the state of the game.

And every day of those 15 years PVP players have hated it.

If they haven’t done anything about Multiboxing before what makes you think they’ll do anything about it now?

Seems like a shot in the dark here OP.

details?

What’s wrong with the game, directly tied to multiboxing being in it and not due to Blizz design choices?

WRONG. You can multibox without any 3rd party software that installs in a WOW directory.

And speaking of illegal 3rd party programs you know what else needs to be included on your basis? ANY mod that shows node locations / spawn times.
I’m all for removing ALL 3rd party software…every last mod that isn’t a part of WOW.

Yet another classic case of someone who lacks the skill or simple ability to research how to defeat multiboxers. Another entitled complainer…big shocker.

What do you believe to be the state of the game, and in what way do you feel multiboxing has affected it?

Again, be specific. Or are you just reciting platitudes?

I’ve played eve for over a decade, and while multi-boxing is allowed (I have something like 16 active accounts and another 10 in “free to play” mode) input broadcasting with programs like IS boxer isn’t. but you still see threads like this ALL the time.

Although anyone who takes multiboxing in eve seriously doesn’t do the alt-tab thing, either we stack our screens because clicking through them is faster, or we use a program called eve-o preview that works kinda similar to isboxer but without the input broadcasting, and has been given the offical stamp of approval by CCP saying its allowed.

input broadcasting or not, the basic arguments are still the same, although they get laughed out of the room MUCH more harshly than they do here. (cuz ccp isn’t quite as strict about language etc as blizzard is)

It really boils down to people having a sense of entitlement, feeling like they should be able to compete on the same level as absolutely everyone else, when they aren’t willing to put in the same investment of time, money, and setup to actually get there.

People have been multi-boxing before Burning Crusade was ever released. How is the health of the game magically altered 16 years later?

I don’t get that.

Its been a problem since vanilla. I guess everyone forgot. Youll have to dig up old archives.

I guess it’s more prevalent because of the Brutosaur mount.

It’s strange though, I multi-box daily and I never really run into anyone else multiboxing. I play on Stormrage, Area 52, Proudmoore… I never see them.

Maybe once in a blue moon in Nazjatar, but I don’t multibox there, never have, never will. I don’t set up shop and farm mobs either, not my cup of tea.

I guess you are lucky. I see them every day. Farming, non stop. Same players in the same spot. Some in the world, some zoning in and out of dungeons. Some in PvP one shotting players. Tons of videos and evidence of several different multiboxxers generally breaking the game because they have money. pay2win

I don’t PVP either. I guess I don’t pay close enough attention.

Why do you multibox

if its been a “problem” for 16+ years and hasn’t managed to break the game yet… then I’d argue that its really not much of a problem.

interesting… so your saying that YOU are in those spots, day after day, doing the exact same thing as them, presumably non-stop… I dunno… sounds like a bot to me.
now that I think about it, the repetitive arguments, the inability to parse complex concepts… are you sure your not a bot? cuz your sounding more and more like a bot.

youu don’t knOow me! :dancing_women:‍♀

Because I was unfortunate to have my career end due to, “life happening”. So, about five months ago I had all of this free time given to me. I had always been intrigued by it, I just never had the patience or time to try and learn.

I did try it out and found that I enjoyed it. It was fun leveling myself through dungeons and learning how it all worked. Learning how to set up different styles of teams, mixed with ranged and melee, was fun for me.

I don’t multi-box to control the Auction House. In fact, I completely stopped farming herbs and ores a month ago.

The reality is… I always wanted to try it and the Brutosaur mount was something I wanted since I started saving up two years ago. I had three million gold saved up five months ago, I wouldn’t have put myself over the top without it.

So, I guess some people are right in the regard that of course it gives advantages over playing a single character.

I still enjoy it though, right or wrong, I love leveling myself. I love meeting new people and queuing up the old fashioned way, but some days I just am having a really crappy day and wanna play alone, so I put up a 5 person team, pop dungeons, put on some music and relax.

World of Warcraft is a hobby, but since I’ve been given more time to play due to, “life happens”, it’s brought me a lot of solace and has helped me get my mind off of… well… the life happens part.

That’s okay if people look down on me, I understand why.

I’m not multiboxing to grief anyone or to troll, I don’t PVP, I don’t take over areas and farm mobs for hours on end.

I just enjoy transmog, mount, pet and toy hunting. Gives me more options. I love leveling, I love the auction house.

I just do.
