All of those things are true but they pay for multiple subs so blizz literally doesnt care.
Just be glad it wow never went full EQ, where the only people playing it are multiboxers.

I find it quite funny because it’s so silly. I heard about someone who multiboxed 400 characters in ArchAge. Now that is some ridiculous out of this world dedication.
Multiboxing in classic is classic. I don’t mind it personally.
Dealt with a multiboxer a few days ago in 1K Needles. After we figured out which one was the brain and killed him the rest kind of stood there. It was like we destroyed the mothership and all the little alien robots just shut down, lol.
We kept telling on Discord “kill the brain, kill the brain” it was hilarious, lol. I’m not sure if this is how multiboxing works but it did in our situation, haha.
Exactly, Botting is a completely different topic from multi-boxing. Do botters multi-box? Absolutely they can, but often don’t, they start their individual characters farming then go off to work/school while their characters continue to farm and deposit mats in the bank or list them on the AH. All completely automated.
Multiboxers sit in front of a computer and push a button for every action their armies perform.
Disagree. I like facing multiboxers. They are like player controlled world bosses and honestly, with a little effort they are fairly simple to thwart.
Multi-boxers are usually easy to take down in a coordianted attack. Especially if you take down the leader
If you replace Multiboxers with Groups then you’ll understand why multiboxers have a place in an MMORPG (not an RPG). For example, let’s take each of your points…
Groups have no place in an RPG - This is correct. The RPG is played by one person (generally)
Groups break immersion - This is correct because as you state there’s nothing more aesthetically disgusting than seeing multiple players in an area when you want the area to yourself.
Groups have an unfair advantage - This is correct again! The group/raid/guild of players have an unfair advantage over one person playing one account.
Groups cause performance issues - This is correct also! Case in point - Asmongold brought three full raids of players to fight the Horde and on live stream caused the first set of players to cause lag and crash the server. NOTE: No multiboxers were present!
Myth: Groups provide Blizzard with more revenue - This is correct if everyone in the group pays for their subs with gold.
The community hates groups - This is again correct because most single players without a group would rather tough it out than join other players.
Groups don’t belong - This is correct if you’re playing by yourself like an RPG in an MMORPG. I can see why you would say that.
So the point is, the reason why multiboxers are allowed with keyboard and mouse broadcasting is that there is no difference between a group or a 40+ multiboxer to a raid of players. Everyone of your arguments applies to both. Why would an MMORPG prevent a group from forming? Why would an MMORPG prevent a guild from forming? Why would an MMORPG not want a raid to happen? If you think of a multiboxer in terms of a group or raid then you’ll understand there is no difference between the ‘why’ they are allowed. If you don’t understand the ‘why’ and focus only on the ‘how’ (multiboxer being one person controlling all of the accounts) then you’ll never understand the points you’re failing to attempt to make.
Please ban all multiboxers. It’s literally paying more money for an unfair advantage - pay to win if you will.
Multiboxers are at a disadvantage against any comparable group of similar size. A raid of 40 people should easily take out a raid of 40 toons being multiboxed. Both groups pay the same amount in sub fees. Group up, join a guild, and multi-boxers are not a serious threat.
You understand that you need need to get 20+ people who care enough to contest ONE single person controlling 40 characters, right? You understand how that’s unreasonable to ask of people, yes?
I sure hope so.
No, it isn’t unreasonable, that is what guilds are for. If people choose to play by themselves then they need to avoid guild groups as well as multi-boxers.
In Vanilla we did everything as a guild, from dungeons, to raids, to initiating open world PvP at the Crossroads or Southshore/Tarren Mill. Use the defense channel if you want to pull in extra people that was common as well.
“Automation” is where I get up from the keyboard and my character keeps playing. That’s what is forbidden.
Agreed, multiboxing is cheating in my eyes. The game is intended for one person to play one character at a time. The ability to control multiple characters at once gives a single person an advantage that nobody else can even hope to achieve without multiboxing themselves.
Just your opinion.
Just your opinion.
I play two characters at the same time a lot. I’m not multiboxing, but I could if I wanted to.
Anyone is free to start multiple accounts and play them as they want. Just because you don’t feel like doing that doesn’t mean it’s cheating.
I agree with everything you have said here. However multiboxing has been around since Everquest. Either you ignore it or just stop playing the game.
So grouping is cheating? Raiding is cheating? Guilds are cheating? Anything that has to do with more than one person to do something is cheating in an MMORPG? The game is not intended for one person to play one character at a time and not interact with other players by joining groups. You’re arguing against what an MMORPG is.
Obviously? That’s why I said in my eyes… Learn to read.
This is not opinion. If blizzard intended for a single person to control multiple characters at one time there would be mechanics built into the game to do so. There are no such provisions therefore it is not intended.
Nope.
There’s addons of all sorts, and your argument would say they should all be banned because they have not been incorporated into the game by blizzard.
I’ll play my two accounts however I wish, whether or not you think I should be gimped so you don’t feel like you’re falling behind when you’ve chosen to play only one account.
Guy seems jealous that he can’t afford more than one account and has no knowledge of how to do this him/her self. I have NEVER in 15 years had anyone multiboxing ruin my game experience. In fact, a PC upgrade might make you unable to even suspect who is doing it.
