I agree 1000% I would love to see this policy reversed, but I doubt it will happen. Anytime I see a multiboxing family of characters I take a couple minutes to add each one to my ignore list. I dont ever want to group with any of those characters.
They are paying $$$, this is a business, therefore ________.
Hmm so Role-play huh? Well what if an evil wizard mind-controlled a group of travelers, Loki style, and in tandem they all ran around together killing the same things, doing the same tasks.
Role-play fulfilled.
I don’t have any issue with them playing the game. Its just the do this as a hobby I actually talk to them in discord they are not as bad as you think they are it can be annoying to see them run around Its World PVP killing people but they are playing like everyone else.
I’ve played this game for years, multiboxing is a way to spice things up. I never attack anyone first and usually get camped /spit on by ??s. It doesn’t bother me though because building my team and soloing difficult content is incredibly fun and rewarding.
I got ganked (multiple times) by a multi-boxer in Thousand Needles. 4 Warriors and a Shaman. Took all of 5 seconds to kill me each time. I was actually laughing at the whole experience, but those corpse runs sobered me up quickly. I definitely don’t think Multi-boxing should be allowed, but what can ya do. If it’s not a multi-boxer, it is a group of randos ganking anyway. The thing that I find solace in, is the fact that they are most likely spending $75 a month to do it.
LOL, not a new thing, I’ve been doing it for 10+ years. I can go point by point with this poster and they are DEAD wrong. But they can cry, it’s an open forum.
Nice necro.
/eats popcorn in Multiboxer
Agree with OP. I mean, controlling a party of multiple characters? I can’t imagine an RPG ever having something like that…
ok so I find multiboxing to be… well not something I like, but thats due to 1: I cannot afford that many subs 2: it just looks so odd to me to see
that all being said, I dont care that someone wants to do it if they can. I mean, it IS a game in the end, but I much prefer them to be on one server that I am not on lol. Plus I hear ganking them can be really REALLY fun if they are not great at multiboxing.
One of the things the big private servers did well was to disallow multiboxing. Blizzard should have been doing the same all along. Blizzard/Activision are just cowards and care more about the money than community health to not take a hard stance on it. But that’s not going to change.
The only power I have at my disposal though is my refusal to run dungeons with them. I don’t care that they are paying for multiple accounts and therefore feel like they “deserve” to play in groups as much as anyone else due to that. Not going to happen with me.
Using that logic, macros fall under this category because pressing one button automates several other additional actions, checks and flow of abilities.
Clearly you have no clue to what you are talking about. There is a huge difference between multi-boxing and botting. You clearly describe botting and multi-boxing is the physical playing of one or more accounts by the individual where botting is where the other accounts are run by scripts. Get your facts straight and stop complaining about something you clearly know nothing about.
I had a D&D game once where someone played multiple characters, worked out well enough.
I mean that’s how I feel about some of the armor in this game.
tl;dr One keystroke or mouse click replicated to multiple clients is ok (as long as it only creates one action per client).
I’ve been playing (more than I should) since Vanilla have have seen multi-boxers twice. I took a screenshot because I thought it was pretty cool then went on with my life.
Don’t be silly. The macro system is specifically provided by blizzard for use in WoW. Sooo…
any code and/or software, not expressly authorized by Blizzard
Keycloners aren’t automation by a bots term automation. Bots you just run the script/exe. Keycloners, you press a key and it gets cloned to other processes. Its still manual input by a user.
Especially those who play different classes.
