As an Irish person who immigrated to the US and then to Canada, I can tell that you’re wrong. On so many levels. The Irish immigrants to many areas of the world ended up in a melting pot and giving up their identity to fit in. The only reason Ireland has St Patrick’s Day is to take delicious tourist money and nod our head at tourists who claim they’re some % of Irish and since they are stubborn, it must be true. And every other stereotype then can fit into their nasty green beer.
It is german, so need to use google translate. But here it is. I am not the original poster but yes I will be using this interview going forward
"1. buffed : Worgen and night elves have disappeared from Stormwind on the PTR. Will they live in the Emerald Dream from now on?
Katherine Bankson: It’s potentially one of the new havens for the night elves, but I wouldn’t say it’s their only home. It’s certainly a place they can call home, but it’s not the only place. The night elves have experienced a number of tragedies over the past 10,000 years and have often had to look for a new home. They hope that they will find peace in their dreams and will not have to search for a new home again. For us, Amirdrassil is a place where you can rest until you find something new."
I mean, it’s an interview given before the event was public. They aren’t going to give a straight answer for that alone.
But honestly, even if a Blizzard developer says it, it shouldn’t be taken at face value. The whole “High King isn’t really the leader of the Alliance, it’s more of a military position” thing then being hereditary, and Varian threatening to throw sovereign leaders in prison.
Mind, there is a path that lets the Night Elves have easy access to all their holdings on Kalimdor, and that’s just to open up the portals in the Great Trees.
We’ll see more about all this tomorrow, and see if the city gets built up any.
Re: What happened to the population of the Night Elves
Their outposts were taken by surprise, falling one by one, the guards poisoned. Not even the civilians were spared. The loss of life was clearly visible by the abundance of wisps.[12] Despite the urgency of the situation, Summermoon insisted for the bodies of the fallen soldiers to be honored properly, allowing their wisps proper release.
It is actually proof that they are bringing in NPCs from all over night elf territory to their new “homeland” in the middle of the ocean next to EK.
Maybe this isn’t your native language, but you said “all the nelves that didn’t live in teldrassil” to “If Teldrassil was their main population hub, and only refugees from Teldrassil are moving to Amirdrassil, what population is remaining on Kalimdor? Soldiers?” meaning only the night elves that lived in Teldrassil would be here and “all the nelves that didn’t live in teldrassil”, which is not true as there are NPCs from all over making their home in Amirdrassil, not only the survivors of Teldrassil but night elves that lived outside of Teldrassil.
So if they’re only in Amirdrassil until they find something new, then what about your argument that they’re still in Kalimdor? Isn’t Kalimdor a suitable home for them? Why do they need to find something new after Amirdrassil if they are in Kalimdor too?
If Amirdrassil is a temporary home, why all the fanfare? Why would they create a temporary home and then have to find a NEW new one when Kalimdor is securely theirs and they’re not leaving it?
You do realize that this type of response is a speculative distraction and doesn’t actually argue anything meaningful, right?
If this was an honest converstion, you would expect him to be happy that the devs don’t plan to isolate the Nelves in Amirdrassil. Isn’t it weird that he seems to WANT the night elves to be permanent victims?
They hope that they will find peace in their dreams and will not have to search for a new home again. For us, Amirdrassil is a place where you can rest until you find something new."
The interviewee even contradicts themselves. “They hope they don’t have to search for a new home again. Amirdrassil is a place they can rest until they find something new”
Which is very much NOT in line with the “This is our home now” writing in-game now/
Again, OP, you’re here saying that ‘Moving the Night Elves from Kalimdor is a bad thing’.
We asked for proof that Blizzard was doing that and you couldn’t provide any.
Now Rineha and I have both highlighted that the developers specifically said that Amirdrassil will not be the only home of the Night Elves, meaning that the Night Elves will also be staying in Val’sharah and Kalimdor.
So why are you still jumping up and down arguing as if Blizzard is moving the Night Elves from Kalimdor?
