Because the writers wanted to move in a different direction and quite frankly, because Dragonflight is current content and Cataclysm is not. And everything you are peddling has already been debunked by a Blizz developer in the quote I referenced above.
It’s really strange how personal some of you are making this. “YOU Night Elf players”, “people like you”, etc… It’s a bit disconcerting honestly.
Gilnean humans migrating to Stormwind isn’t as drastic of a change as Kaldorei moving across the world. Not only are Gilneas and Stormwind culturally similar, they are the same race of people. They have a history together. Hell, even the environment isn’t that different.
The longest attachment a human can have to their homeland is, what, 100 years or so? Many Night Elves have lived in Kalimdor for millennia. So, no, they are not comparable situations.

Untrue, they’ve already pointed out a bunch of night elves that were not living in teldrassil being here.
Like literally Kaldorei who live on the Broken Isles and Val’sharah (an uncontested territory) are like “Yeah, this is home now” and people are still saying the ones in Kalimdor aren’t uprooting?
so you take that as meaning every single kaldorei instead of just the ones that want to move there

I noticed Rensar present saying that the Night Elves need to embrace their future. One druid, from Val’sharah, being present isn’t the indicator of Night Elves leaving Kalimdor that folks seem to think it is.

There is a difference between “every single night elf” living there, and what you said which was untrue “all the nelves that didn’t live in teldrassil”. Blizzard has only mentioned military position, not civilians living their life normally in any of these areas. Night elves from all over being here indicates it’s a lot more than just the population of Teldrassil that was impacted and homeless.
So what you’re saying is that the ones who were in Stormwind preferred to be there instead of Hyjal despite the novels calling Hyjal out as the home they made in Kalimdor after Teldrassil, but then as soon as Amirdrassil pops up, they all disappear and go to Amirdrassil because Stormwind is better than Hyjal? Now Amidrassil shows up and they all leave and go to it.
Well yes, the “poor me” group of Night Elf posters have been a blight on this forum for years and years

Blizzard also pretty much directly said that as the Horde pushed into Kaldorei lands during the War of Thorns, Kaldorei civilians from ALL OVER their holdings in Ashenvale were brought to Teldrassil because they never thought Teldrassil would be razed, only occupied at worst. So, yes, most of their population was at Teldrassil during its burning.
Then leave this thread and start a thread about something you care about.

Apparently he wants a thread where folks agree with him and don’t ask him for receipts that prove his more outlandish claims.
He still hasn’t addressed the Blizz interview that completely contradicts the doomer narrative that he’s trying to push here.

Nope, you said “all the nelves that didn’t live in teldrassil” indicating that the only ones here are night elves from Teldrassil, which is wrong as there are night elves that didn’t live in Teldrassil. Astranaar was taken by the horde, I don’t believe there is actually anything saying there are civilians again living in Astranaar or even Ashenvale at all in exploring Kalimdor (which is the only update blizzard has allowed for ashenvale and darkshore), just that the night elves have taken it back, like they took back darkshore but are no longer living there.
