Did I say you were small brained? No, I did not.
I simply said they are not abandoning Kalmindor and you know they aren’t.

Please. For the love of god. Like, i added a bit of a joke there, but that was moreso a joke about making blizzard pick a side because of their writing LMAO not trying to goad a derailing of the thread.
Also can we not throw in real-world controversial subjects here because as a community we lack the nuance to discuss writing in this flea market carnival of a story, we are definitely not going to handle this other stuff well.
No what do you mean CLEARLY the Story Forums are the PERFECT place to do just that.
Wait, are you really trying to say with a straight face that there was no Nelf population outside of Darnassus? The same Darnassus that didn’t exist until after WCIII?
I actually like this patch, I’ve watched my friend play through it and I’ve doing it myself on and off, but there’s a LOT to like about this patch
And I don’t hate the Kaldorei, there’s plenty about them that are pretty cool. I just find some of the fans to be insufferable is all
You guys not only refuse to acknowledge the patchs own text when shared in here multiple times. You continue to push your own idea of what we actually mean, no matter how much it’s clarified. You ignore anything you or Carhagen see that roadblocks your argument and just avoid addressing it- which is why all you do is say ‘no we’ve read it’ but are openly contradicting what is being said in 10.2
The zionist movement leaders that advocated for the creation of israel in the 40s called it colonialism.
If THEY had self awarness to called it what it is then it is what it is. You can justify geneology and skull sizes or quote facts from you magic book but europeans occupying a land they never lived in before by pushing out the original inhabitants is colonialism.
Its that simple.
You can try to spin it how you want but it is what it is.
And before you cry about I want Israel deleted. Dont worry I am infavor of the one state solution.
Merge all palestinian and israel territories, give everyone equal rights and citizenship and see what happens.
Pretty much. It exists because it needed to, and it was still mentioned that it took a lot of work.
A lot of work when Darnassus was in catapult range before. Now?
It’s just not realistic.
But even beyond that, I think most of this is just bad faith argument. "Oh, yeah, they totally according to this book say they have these lands, it’s just not seen, mentioned, referenced, or talked about and all attention, lore, in game characters, etc are saying “This is our new home”…
Like, even if they are technically correct, it’s the same technically correct that had the Worgen in control of Gilneas in Mission tables, or the other 2 or 3 times that’s been mentioned in books or lore and never once happened.
Did you come here to add anything about the Night Elves?
You still haven’t produced any evidence where the Kaldorei are ABANODING Kalimdor.
Yes, we know Amdrissal is the new home and no we’re not ignoring what you’re saying. We’re telling you that you’re quite literally wrong
I actually like the patch and do not find myself offended by the content, but that is because I simply do not expect better. To Blizzard, time in the spotlight is time in the spotlight and hey, it came with great mogs. That’s literally all I expect out of the writing at this point and sometimes I find myself frustrated that others have a higher expectation.
But what I expect is not what other people expect and it’s perfectly reasonable that after you touch a third rail of a very serious subject you’re not going to be able to build on it easily, no matter your intentions. I’m here because I can’t stop myself from trying to facilitate better communication, though I don’t always help like I think I do.
I think after they teleported a huge amount of Night Elves across the ocean through portals (but not soldiers, mages, anyone of note that could impact the situation) is what kind of killed the notion of distances or resources mattering to me. These inconsistencies just seem too frequent to me even in the narrative to view that aspect as relevant.
I already have.
Its funny how you are advocating against displacement but israel is doing the literal same thing as we speak
Exactly. At best, it’s ignoring the blatant treatment of these lands as ‘not our home actually.’ A book already said we moved back to Kalimdor, and blizzard contradicted it by refusing to move the NPCs. They refused to move them after exploring Azeroth. That is, arguably, evidence that the book is just not accurate. Alongside THE FACT IT SAYS THE WAR OF THE ANCIENTS WAS 1,000 YEARS AGO AND USED THE DARK PORTAL but that controversy was so funny I know nobody here has forgotten it.
Their capital is moving across the planet.
They are moving.
Maybe not all of them but most of them.
Since they keep calling this place their new “home”.
Its very unorthodox for a nation to have TWO homes. Its generally just one, hence the singular term homeland.
Fun fact about that magic book.
The current Israeli government uses it as justification for their claims of “We have a right to this land.” but that book details how the land was inhabited before the ancient Jewish people arrived, and those ancient Jews waged war on the people of those lands to take it for themselves. Specifically the Canaanites. The Israelites even razed the city of Jericho to the ground in the book of Joshua after the walls of the city were torn down by god, if you believe the myth.
I will say that I don’t necessarily have higher expectations of modern WoW, but I think warcraft in general absolutely has more potential and should be held to that. They contradict the themes and narrative of the story. And it is a story that has meant a lot to me since i first got two digits in my years haha.
I kind of had a feeling the tree was going here from the actual reveal of DF’s map. It’s a pretty obvious open space. But expecting it doesn’t necessarily make the absurdity of it better in my opinion.
I mean, the world’s completely incoherent so that’s fair. But if distance didn’t really matter, then a lot of the previous faction conflicts make even less sense than usual.
Why are we still pretending like the Story Forums are a good place to discuss IRL stuff?
I thought it was really funny in one of the books, maybe Before the Storm, where they depict Orgrimmar as a city of plenty.
Like guys did you miss the reason they fight the elves.
