Movement Speed, Leech, Avoidance Cap?

So earlier I had 13% movement speed from gems and bonus speed on gear. I went into arena and it dropped to 10%. I assumed there is just more diminishing returns in arena. Then I got another piece from the vault that has speed which raised it to 16% movement speed. Went into the arena and its still 10% movement speed… So I guess there’s a hard cap you can’t go past. Anyone know if there is caps for leech and avoidance. Would hate to waste weekly chests because there is a cap I didn’t know about again…

Those additional stats don’t activate in rated pvp, I’m assuming the 10% movement speed bonus you have is from being a WW Monk or Havoc DH right?

I play a warlock. I have a gem that gives 13 movement speed for each shadowland gem you have socketed, 6 gems total of 78 speed. My cloak is the 20 stamina and minor speed increase. I have 2 pieces of gear that give a total of 75 speed. I don’t have anything else that gives me speed.

these are inactive in arena

gems and enchants work, but the randomly stated ones you rng proc when the gear drops are disabled in instanced pvp

None of the third stats on gear work in pvp.

The speed from gems and cloak enchant should be working in pvp but no tertiary stats on items work. Those are just pve only bonuses.

Well that’s stupid… Why even have them proc then if not to use in PvP? PvP gear is sub optimal for PvE. Blizzards whole thing about nerfing movement speed in rated is dumb. Like why can’t DK’s have extra mount speed? Lame Blizz…

Because it would be stupidly op for ppl that got lucky to proc speed on every piece and literally run laps around you.
Speed stacking is OP and not good for arena.

imagine having like 5 leeches

you’d be a bfa dh

I understand what would be tough to deal with in arenas if someone has all their gear from the Vault and got lucky enough to get the 3rd stat, however, imagine those of us that have worked so hard day in and day out to get the gear that we’ve earned in the “grind” and the gear is nerfed? Blizzard is really dropping the ball in so many areas with this as PVP gear that you receive within their own reward system and it does nothing for you when used in the designed system for use! Like making us grind out Shadowlands from day one, waiting for the weekly cap of renown each week, finally being able to make “Covenant” legendaries and then being able to make the Korthite Vestige to make them 249 or 262 and then finding out they nerfed that specific Legendary in Arena as well…come on already. Just quit advertising something works a certain way to make us find out it doesn’t after we’ve worked so hard to get it. Remove it entirely or leave it alone!

Do you just Google forum posts or something? Stop Necroing random crap and giving bad takes on them.

was this towards my comment by chance?

of course it was towards your comment, who else would he be talking to? the other guy who responded to an 11 month old thread? (not that i really care about you necroing it, or think you had a bad take, your take was valid and correct)

no

if tertiary stats worked in arena the game quality would diminish drastically

this is a bad post and a necro stop

leech is especially stupid on healers and one of the most sought after stats in pve that i’ve seen healers actually rage and get extremely upset if a leech piece is not given to them.

any healing done also heals again via leech on the caster. so a healer could be healing their team and also be healing themselves indirectly with leech.

imagine a shadow priest healing off of devouring plague’s intended healing, but also a bit of leech from devouring plague’s damage lol.

A little bit of leech from the cloak enchant for example is whatever, but there’s very good reason to why leech and other tertiary’s are disabled.
