Mouse Wheel Keybinds

Tech Specialist Game Master that answered my ticket suggested I posted here if none of the steps he instructed me to do worked to resolve my problem as well as in the bug submit section in game which I did. My Problem: Ever since the SL pre patch launch on Tues, My keybind “target nearest enemy” to mouse wheel up and keybind “target next enemy” to mouse wheel down arent functioning at all when my curser/pointer is hovering over any spell icon on my action bar. If I raise curser higher to anywhere on the screen that isnt an action bar spell icon both keybinds cycle thru targets exactly like they have for over a decade. Due to being a “Clicker” my problem lies in 90% of the time my curser has always hovered over my action bars. I have seen a few posts on this searching dif keywords and chimed in on a few with mostly “same prob” or similar. I have no intentions of trying to learn a new way of targeting after over 1000 days /played across all my characters. Its just to much of a muscle memory now and my left hand doesnt function well enuff to do anything beyond the 3 finger WASD which is why i chose this style of targeting when i started playing. I have no addons running, I have disabled Twitch. I have renamed Cache to Cacheold, Interface to Interfaceold, WTF to WTFold and restarted wow and ran the commands in chat panel /Console Cvar_reset /Console Cvar_default and still problem remained the same. I have since reversed the renaming process. So i guess im here to ask for any suggestions from the UI/macro community as instructed to. Im now convinced its its not on my end and came from Tues prepatch on Blizzards end. I came to this conclusion from a few other friends that are alot more computer tech savy then this old caveman. Also the Tech Specialist gave me his real name, i would add that as well if it helps at all but not sure if Im supposed to in forums or not so Im airing on the side of caution and leaving it out for the time being. Please help, trying to play feels horrible and just keeps making me log out due to frustrations. I just want it to work as it always worked before Tues. Ty and please excuse any mispellings and punctuations from this old Clicker

I just tested this and got the same result you’re having. I don’t have any advice though.

I have same problem. Used to be able to scroll the mouse wheel to go between targets (set in Keybindings) - not working now. I am also a “clicker” (15+ years!).

Known issue since the patch. Action bars are eating mouse functions.

You might be able to get around it with Clique.

Ok, Nsk over in general chat finally.gave me a solution/work around that works for every mouse. I am currently wheel scrolling target next enemy while curser is over UI. It was suggested to try the app “x-mouse control”. I happen to use change wheel up to control X and wheel down to control C (copy/paste keys basically) then ingame setting the keybinds as such. It works and it 1st time since pre-launch that targetting feels normal. Best of luck to you. Thank You Nsk!!!

If you’re going to remap them, why not remap them to TAB and SHIFT-TAB? Then you’re at least not messing with your ability to copy/cut and dumping unnecessary data into your computer clipboard all the time.

I didn’t see shift or tab in that 3rd party app. I did see alot of options that are currently in use as commonly used things. X was originally my /sit and C was character open which I always just clicked the small right miniframe option for. Also it’s not like I’m known for tea baggin or and thing so I decided those 2 where both something I could live without

Forgot I switched toons oops. Also Elvenbane, you have been here since day one and I’d like to thank you for your efforts too. I have never once used copy or paste ingame as well

Hey again friend, just wanted to let you know that app has an option called “simulated keys” by choosing it you can rebind your mousewheel to any key \ combination of keys you want, no limitations there, try experimenting with it.
