I believe its a bug related to dragonriding and using certain abilities to dismount. My camera is buggy too.

When I try to right click to change my camera view or interact with NPC the click seems to not be registered. It does that with both of my mouses and works perfectly out of WoW. Started right after the maintenance.

I had turning problems too. Very strange!

As per usual, Blizzard have ignored all posts that have previously been in relation to this issue. Here is one of many from 2019 Right Click Camera movement broken where the issue is still happening to players.

I am having the same issue, been happening since dragonflight launch, but it has progressively got worse.

Here is a full list of what I have done to ‘attempt’ to ‘resolve’ the issue.

I disabled all addons, the issue was made worse.
I tried a different mouse, and it still happened, i tried my mouse on another pc and the issue didnt happen.
I tried a fresh install of world of warcraft, issue was still there.
I disabled “Optimize nerwork for speed” issue still there.
I reset graphics to default, issue still there.
I updated my graphics drivers, issue still there.
I turned off triple buffering, issue became a lot better.
I turned Shadow Quality to Low, issue almost non existant for 2 hours.
I played on Classic, issue there and worse than on retail.
I Changed UI Scale to 200%, issue got worse.
I chanced UI Scale to 64%, issue almost gone for 2 hours.
I set graphics quality slider to 1 and disabled everything in graphics, issue almost gone for 2 hours.
I set graphics quality slider to 10, issue worse than ever.

Tested in PvP (BG and Arena), PvE (Dungeons, open world, even just trying to do dragonriding races).

I ran script /console rawMouseEnable 1 to bypass windows driver control and windows mouse settings, issue still there.

I can confirm that issue is worse in heavier shadowing and particle locations.

I can confirm that issue is worse when I have something/someone targetted.

I can confirm that a fresh install of windows 11, battlenet launcher and wow with no 3rd party programs running on windows and no addons installed for wow at all, the issue still persists.

I can confirm that after trying another account on my computer, the issue does not persist. Issue appears to be limited to my account on my computer only.

The 2 hourly buffer between changes making it better then it returning on its own, lead me to believe that the game is polling the server for data. Something in that data is causing a movement stutter/camera snaring with right mouse button action, that can be backed up and refreshed form the server 2 hourly.

Issue does not appear to be local client related, issue appears to be server side settings and polling issue for account, possible server side data mismatch with the retained graphics/macro/movement/keybind/cache.

Oh my goodness. I had just bought a new ergonomic mouse that was great for a week or two and then started sucking.

I’m so glad it’s not my new mouse (or me).

Reload always fixes mine. I’m sorry

Yeah, strafe is borked and can get you at the most inopportune times!

I reload and I’m back.

I only have this problem during feasts. It gets really annoying. It could just be lag from the zone. I don’t know if that corresponds with your experience or not.

I restarted my computer and it fixed the problem.

The fact this issue has been around since 2018 and still hasnt been fixed is mind boggling. In fact, i dont think ive seen a single blizzard post even addressing its existence at all. The game is unplayable on melee toons for me.

Strafe is bugged, annoying as hell in PvP I tell you.

I found a combination of raging out and reloading generally fixes it.

I removed all mouse software. This did not fix my issue. I really am out of options at this point. I’ve tried dozens of combinations and NOTHING fixed my issue. I’ve played this game since Vanilla and today’s the first time this has ever happened to me.

I was supposed to run keys and had to sit out. I was supposed to be playing WOW with friends for New Year’s Eve and couldn’t play at all. Feels extremely frustrating right now.

I did no software installs prior to this issue starting, so no clue what magically triggered this to occur in the middle of my gameplay this afternoon.

  • Disabled addons
  • Deleted addons
  • Installing Logitech mouse driver software
  • Uninstalling Logitech mouse driver software
  • Uninstalled all HID-compliant mouse options from OS (bricked my mouse completely at that point; thankfully removing/reinserting mouse USB cable reactivated it)
  • Trying with a basic Amazon mouse with only two buttons
  • Turning off hardware acceleration in BNet Launcher
  • Turning on hardware acceleration in BNet Launcher
  • Quitting BNet Launcher
  • Turning off Overwolf/WarcraftLogs
  • Uninstalling Overwolf/WarcraftLogs
  • Disabling Discord
  • Uninstalling Discord
  • Turning off Corsair’s iQue RGB software
  • Reinstalled Nvidia graphics drivers

Currently:

  • Have Discord off
  • Have Logitech uninstalled
  • Have addons off
  • Am using basic Amazon mouse
  • Have BNet Launcher off
  • Overwolf is still uninstalled
  • Discord is off
  • iQue is off
  • The only browser window open is this one for this forum post
  • Nvidia Experience is off
  • No overlay of any kind is running
  • Fresh reboot of PC

P.S. I have no clue why my account is stuck in Classic, but I cannot change it for whatever reason. This is happening in retail.

I’ve lost mouse turning while dragonriding about a dozen times. Today I was in Valdrakken and flew in a straight line all the way past the Obsidian Citadel and into the fatigue zone of the ocean.

Usually the issue is fixed by my mount crashing into something and then I’m able to turn once my mount is on the ground again.

This is happening to me on occasion but typically a reload works.

Happened to me a few days ago. Dismounted in midair and my character was swimming.

Logged out and logged in and I would have fallen to my death if warriors didn’t have heroic leap.

I left this part out but my character did the same thing, swimming through the sky after the dismount.
