Mouse Recommendation Please

Mine is acting stupid lately where holding down the right mouse button randomly stops letting me turn and I have to let it go and press it again. Does anyone have a mouse they recommend? Currently using some kind of Logitech one but the quality seems to have gone downhill since my beloved MX518.

mine does that too its a real old razer naga

Razor Naga Trinity.

12 thumb triggers you can assign macros too. Takes some getting used to but it will change your life.

I have hotkeys I rarely use on it.

I use the razer viper ultimate

Not a fan of mmo mice

After you said this I began to suspect it’s not my mouse and is instead something software related. After searching a lot of threads I found addons can cause a dead space on the screen due to the underlying frames they create in the UI, and if the addon isn’t coded correctly it will allow for a dead space where holding down the right mouse button doesn’t work for turning.

To make a long story short a new addon I started using (BigDebuffs) was the culprit. The icon it placed next to the enemy unit frame was causing a large dead space due to the tooltip it displayed. I disabled it by going to BigDebuffs options>namesplates>unchecking “show tooltips”. The icon still displays but there is no longer a tooltip and no longer a dead space. Posting this here in case anyone else experiences the same issue with this addon or possibly another one.

mmm i use bigdebuffs as well ill have to try that

I’ve had the same issue with older Logitech gseries’.
For me it was all hardware issues.
Over time and overuse I ended up shifting the mouse button (specifically right click) to not align well with its connection trigger.

Opening and cleaning it helped… and on an older version i had to shift/shim it to land perfectly again.

Looked and felt weird having a little folded piece of paper pinned in it but it worked up perfectly until I just bought/shipped a new one lol

Red Dragon Perdition… Best mouse low cost

Dang looks like a cheap clown mouse but for some reason I believe in this thing. Only ever used 2 side buttons though. having all of those will feel weird.

i cannot imagine not having 8 side buttons minimum lol. But I basically just replaced all my old cntrl+ binds with them

Logitech G502 (as long as you don’t have tiny hands) is pretty awesome.

It has three well placed side buttons, and the scroll wheel tilts both directions.

Super smooth and accurate.

(that is if the idea of many buttons scares you)

Just buy another MX518. It’s what I have been using for the past year after going through a dozen mice. $30 on Amazon, couldn’t be happier.

Edit: I guess I would like an extra thumb button, maybe 3 or 4 total… but finding a mouse that’s not ridiculous and also supports this functionality is hard.

I recommend my circa 1996 Hewlett-Packard Roller Ball Mouse. There is a scroll button, which I macro’d with my Word of Glory button in order to machine gun massive heals to my entire team without impunity as a true Pally bro.

After reading this thread I realized what I wanted… a mouse with a D-Pad integrated on the side. I’ve been searching for something like this for weeks without realizing it was what I was looking for.

I’m going to give the Cooler Master mm830 a try. It’s the closest to what I want that I can find. Buttons are a little further apart than I would prefer, but the 8 button mice are just too much.

Dude mine does that too… Razer Naga Trinity here. It’s super annoying and screws me frequently while tanking dungeons.

Every Razer mouse I’ve ever owned eventually had one of the clickers go out. The internal switch would stop registering clicks, so trying to drag something would result in multiple clicks or windows would randomly resize. It got to the point where it was affecting me on a psychological level, so I decided to stop buying razer products.

i switched from the Razor Naga Epic (12 button) to what i currently use. Corsair Scimitar w/ the 12 buttons on the side. absolutely amazing mouse! highly recommend!

Anything more than that is woefully unecessary. Mmo mice are overpriced peices of $%^#.

But if you learned wow or any mmo for tha matter during a time when “mmo/gamer” mice were not even a thing, then you likely already have experience with key binds.

Seriously 30 key binds with keyboard alone is more than enough and in no way difficult on your hand.

Try the corsair scimitar pro, it’s an amazing mouse.

I wish the scimitar wa wireless. I’d buy it in a second.
