Mouse clicks not registering properly for a single character

This is on the WOW Classic Season of Mastery Server - Obsidian Edge

I’m experiencing multiple issues when using left and right clicks:

  • I cannot click to open my bags. I can use the B and shift-B hotkeys without issue.
  • Once in my bag, I cannot left-click an item to move it. The animation of the item occurs, but the item is not “picked up”
  • Once in my bag, I cannot right-click an item to use it. For example, if I right-click my hearthstone, I just see the animation of it being clicked.
  • In my Spellbook: Cannot left-click to use abilities or open profession panes. I have found that I CAN open profession panes by holding Alt while left-clicking. Holding Alt doesn’t work for the previously listed items.
  • When turning in a quest with multiple rewards, I cannot select a reward.

I created a new character and didn’t have this issue.

I have gone as far as to delete the entire World of Warcraft folder and reinstall, but the issue persists.

Could it be something wrong on the server side? I’ve been experiencing this since the weekend.

I know you said you reinstalled, but have you tried a basic UI reset yet? If this is only happening on one character resetting your User Interface might help.

Hi. Thanks for responding. Before completely reinstalling, I tried what you had suggested, but had no luck.

That’s what prompted me to just delete everything.

And when even that didn’t work, I was out of ideas so I came here.

Was this on your Human Paladin on Obsidian Edge? I tested it out myself, and while I didn’t test the full range of uses as of yet, I didn’t seem to have any trouble clicking to open the bags, or clicking items in the bags, or moving items around.

Just to make sure, when resetting your User Interface, you should be deleting or renaming the WTF, Interface, and Cache folder in the _classic_era_ folder.

Thanks for checking. Yes, it was the Classic Era folder that I made the changes to, and yes that’s the correct character.

I’ll try again tomorrow.

Edit: In an update to this, the issue seems to be related to Xbox Game Bar (Win+G), which I’ve been using to record my gameplay for the last few weeks (though, the issue only began over the weekend).

The issue happens whenever I start recording. It persists if I stop recording and the only way to resolve it is to exit the game, log back in and not record.

I know this isn’t a forum for MS, but if someone knows of a fix please let me know. I’ve done some searching and have come up empty handed so far. Thanks.
