So i’m not a great player and my equipment at home reflects that. I just went with the Walmart cheap Onn stuff. However I was curious what is everyone using for their keyboard and mouse?
In my experience a mechanical keyboard is a decent upgrade, but not life changing.
I’ve been playing since vanilla, been glad multiple times as well as hero of the alliance in rbgs (which I prefer to play). And the one piece of tech that made a dramatic difference for me was a Logitech g600 mouse. There are other mmo mice, but the the g600 is the most reliable and has the best build quality imo. Having 12 extra buttons readily available (24 if you bind mouse 3 to a shift/alt/ctrl etc) is a major advantage.
Also, last I checked, the g600 was on sale at Amazon for like 37 bucks. I bought a backup a few days ago.
Razer peripherals. Naga trinity and huntsman.
I play on an MSI 15" laptop, so the built in keyboard, and use a $40 Razr Deathadder essential 5 button mouse.
However, I am probably going to build a desktop and upgrade to a higher end gaming mouse at some point after I have a pool table installed in my garage. Priorities first. Lol
I’m using a Logitech 610 keyboard and a G600 mmo mouse.
i bind scroll wheel to return flags
just to clarify bc I can see someone coming in later saying gear doesn’t matter… I understand a change in my keyboard or mouse won’t make me better. I was just curious for keybinds if i’m missing something maybe on the mouse or something. The one I currently have has 2 side buttons, MW scroll and MW button and than right/left click.
I mean it really depends on you. You can play with a lot of keyboard binds, or you can play with a lot of mouse keybinds.
I personally use a mmo mouse and have the majority of my binds on my mouse. This way feels much more comfortable to me. However, it’s hard to say either way is better it’s a completely individualized.
I 100% agree. I believe I had some stuff in an akward position before, like my MW would be a spell/action and than modifiers + MW would do other spells/actions, and same w/ MB. So I watched some skill_capped videos and bound my targeting macros to my mouse, and changed my mouse to the Onn mouse.
Anyways I’m always looking to be more efficient and wanted to see what other people were doing.
I am using the logitech G502 mouse, with the bulk of my healing spells bound to mouse & modifiers + mouse clicks. Sometimes I think about getting an MMO mouse but I’ve never felt like I could properly hit such a tightly clustered group of buttons.
I have a azio gaming keyboard that was cheap and a redragon 14 button mouse that was under 40 bucks. All work well for me.
Really depends on you. I have GIGANTIC hands and fingers, so I use a simpler mouse and better keyboard/binds because I can’t stop myself from fat fingering mouse buttons.
For keyboard, you can do a lot of personalizing to make your experience easier. If you aren’t familiar look up the difference between Cherry Brown/Blue/Red/Speed. The type of switches on good keyboards dictate how hard you need to press and the tactile feel. Speed/Red require a lot less force to respond and can be great if you’re keyboard muscle memory is super. They lower fatigue in your fingers/wrist as well since you don’t have to be as forceful. However a lot of people prefer blue/brown because they give you that threshold bump feel and you are a lot less likely to accidentally roll a different button.
You do have to pony up a bit for a decent keyboard. I find the Corsair K95 to be a god amongst keyboards. I just ordered another one because BB has the Speed version on sale for 129. The rgb is fantastic, the button response is faster than thought, and it has macro buttons on the left hand side.
Thanks everyone for the input. I’m going to do some research and see if it’s even worth trying something new.
I got small hands (can’t palm a basketball) and i’m old, broken, and a slow learner. So I’ll look and see if anything listed here has better fit than what I have.
I just wish I could undo 10 years of muscle memory and start over with better base binds.
Keyboards don’t matter unless you have some awkward binds that have ghosting keys, which is like, a rarity in this day and age. Mice matter for other games, not so much WoW though. Get an MMO mouse if you want more binds I guess shrug.
None of this is necessary.
With that being said, while I do not use a Logitech mouse, I have used a Logitech K360 keyboard for years now as my gaming keyboard and I’ve used a Logitech MX Keys at work for 2 years for everything I do and it has held up fantastic. They have good customer service and their products are more durable than other brands I’ve used like Corsair.
I was the same way when I got my first naga but after a while you get used to it like typing it’s muscle memory. plus once you add modifiers like shift and ctrl you can easily have 36 actions and quite fast.
I had this opportunity and fell back into old binds bc I didn’t do my research first. But i’m about 1 yearish into and i’d rather try and make changes now before 9.1
Mine aren’t too bad, but I would have better access to F1 etc if I started over. For whatever reason I decided to change my A and D to strafe left and right instead of just using Q and E, so my hand is positioned a little further down. Where most people use 1-5 for their key abilities, I use F R T G Q E and S.
I did the same. my binds are as follows:
Move with A, W, S, D (I probably need to remove S though just never have even though I don’t use it unless i’m messing around).
my spells are all abound to 1-5, q, e, r, f, g, c, and than the 2 side buttons, mouse wheel up/down, and mouse button are used for either targeting macros, or other spells. Plus shift/ctrl modifiers. And than I also have alt bound, but I use that for non combat stuff.
What do you have on A and D?
