Mounts added to Initial Rep - 90k

Blizzard,
People already thought that reskinned griffins and pterodactyls were a little much at 50k. Nonetheless, you took it upon yourself to increase them again to 90k?

These prices are getting absurd. The spider mount, longboi, frogs, etc. were fine. Frankly, it seems to have fostered a pattern of constantly increasing mount prices.

We no longer have the gold incomes we had. Catering to people with the huge amounts of gold banked up seems to be your mission, but how many are there left?

What is this “increase” everyone is talking about? I don’t see it as an “increase” when they are not even in the Live game yet. That is the purpose of “testing”, isn’t it?

These are just 90 K mount # increases to me, for really horrible mounts (on the alliance side), which I’ll buy anyway because it is still cheaper than 333 K “toad” mount # increasing mounts.

I can swing 90K, even though I find it harder to make gold now.

Blizzard are counting on people to buy gold to get the new mounts. I agree that atm the prices for these are ridiculous. It should be 10k max for a mount from a rep vendor. Hopefully it will change when it hits live servers.

They’ve increased on the PTR from 50,000 gold each to 90,000 gold each.

Agreed. Boring reskins at this price are just whale-bait - and piss-poor bait at that.

Could be setting us up for another pat on the back move. They increase prices, players rage, then they lower the prices (like they always intended) and players applaud them for listening!

What mounts?

Aye.

I hate to be negative about Blizzard’s decisions, but…

50k for each mount is absurd, but possibly doable if I farmed my butt off.
90k for each mount immediately drops into “I’m never buying these” territory.

Placeholder ,maybe? Probably not - I’m with Vhx on this.
They seem to like to do the remove then add back in so everyone praises them for listening. This CAN be the same thing but with price changing.

Have a hard time seeing this as placeholder.

Spectral pterodactyl, sigh

Blizzard is really helping me fight OCD tendencies lol. they keep the 90k of PTR in 8.2…I can shake the “must collect things” OCD twitch lol.

I am not cheap but yeah…these need to do something more. Its like the vendor “elephant” mount. Stiff price upfront for sure. But the convenience of on the spot vendor/repair for a long series of mog/rep farming cannot be denied.

You can buy the gryphon in brown for 2k gold

These do not deserve to be the price of the vendor elephants. They’re not unique models or skins. The gryphons are lazy rehashes of MoP content and should not be anywhere near the price they are

O_O I was actually going to get those mounts, but if they are that high now I don’t think I’ll get them. I’m very bad at saving gold >,> I see something on ah I want I spend all of my gold to get it. No way I’ll have 90k on me unless I buy a token and I won’t do that just to get a reskin of a Gryphon that I got in MoP

What exactly do you think they are testing here with the price increase?

Their abilty to count?
How to setup a purchaseable mount?

Why not? You guys pay $25 willingly per mount in the shop. 90k is a discount frankly in comparison.

BFA is the expansion that killed mount collecting for me. I didn’t buy the vendor horses. I didn’t buy the toads. I won’t buy 90k gryphons. My tradeskills don’t produce any income and raiding is expensive so spending gold on cosmetics isn’t feasible.

I will probably make this gold amount before the release of 8.2.

It doesn’t even look spectral in the model viewer. Just gray. It would be a cool mount if it was like the other spectral mounts.

Those are shop mounts.
These are basic reputation mounts, on top of being recolors.

Model viewer is bugged.

Putting the mount cost aside for the moment, is it really that difficult for you guys to farm gold? I have two characters with millions, and about 7 holding between 70-90k. I barely do anything to make gold, but still manage to have it.

I read that some people barely have enough to cover their repairs. Literally what are these people doing when they enter the game? Not trying to be rude, just curious if these players even play the game.

You can literally make a druid herb/mine for 30min to an hour a day and be surprised the amount of gold you will make. oh yea 90k is a lot but no not really.
