Could someone confirm if that you are able to claim a second little ragnaros from the mountain dew promotion if you already have the one from the pet store? are these the same pet or are they variants?

I cannot confirm, unfortunately, as I only just got him this past week from the Dew promo. He does say 1/1 in game so I would imagine you cannot have a second one.

You can claim anything you want from the Mountain Dew promo. They do not know what you have or don’t have on your account.
However…
They are the same pet, not a variant. I can’t speak for whether the game will allow you to have a second Lil’ Rag on your account (as I haven’t tried), but I don’t think it’s possible.
So claiming it from Mountain Dew will give you a code, but I believe entering the code on the Battlenet site will give an error, or an “You already have this product” message. If someone has tried this and actually got a second version, it would likely be a bug that it was allowed.

Yep, this is the exact same one, so you can’t claim it a second time.
You could gift it to a friend or something. I got 4 12 packs of free Mt Dew so I had enough points to get a cycle for myself and gift one to a friend.
