Mount equipment *sigh*

Please do.

As of right now I only plan on using mount equipment on 1 of my characters. That 1 will be using the water walking one he gets for having already earned it prior to it being taken away.

I am curious to see how much they increase daze once this goes into effect. As It is prior to this I don’t have nearly the daze issues some of you seem to. But I do think they will try and passively push us into using the non water walking equipment.

Those are facts, yes. This particular tangent is in regards to an absurd claim about shaman and WW ability. I realize you’re gettin a little mad here, but, apples & oranges.

Except you need to use the Bardings and Hoofplates, along with the new Nazjatar and Mechagon mats, to create the mount equipment. Therefore reducing the availability of the existing Bardings and Hoofplates assuming players attempt to farm gold by crafting mount equipment. It also presumes Blizzard doesn’t change the Bardings, Hoofplates, and Stirrups to match their tooltip and delete the Goblin Gliders and engineering items as redundant.

Then in 9.0 new zone specific crafted mount equipment is released which you have to purchase again to get back to square one.

Daze was already buffed in patch 8.1 from 50% to 75%.

But it is a change. They are taking away a mount I spent time and gold getting and making me pay for it 30+ times again. I spent weeks farming a mount that had innate water walking and tue that mount will be gone. That’s just wrong.

Mount Equipment puts everyone on the same page therefore having potions, WW, PoF, Goblin Gliders, and Engineering items are redundant and make Shaman and DK’s OP. Why wouldn’t those items thus be on the chopping block?

Part of what really irks me about this is that they have gone to creating expansions where they take place on tiny islands with a fair amount of water.

So players do the natural and obvious thing to make travel as fast an easy as possible. They use the strider. So Blizzards solution is to castrate the mount rather than address the reason people are using it so much. Stop making tiny damn islands every expansion.

Next expansion will be like Blade’s Edge in Outland except with more sheer cliffs and less roads. With 3x the mob density of Argus. With no more Resounding Protection on gear and Daze still at 75%. So you’ll need bags full of mount equipment to constantly change in order to safely and easily navigate the world. But it will require all new equipment specific to the new zones and using new mats including raid drop only mats.

A year ago I would have laughed at a post like this. These days I have to accept it as a real possibility.

Your thinking is backwards; if anything, it solidifies the playability and appeal of the DK and Shaman.

“Here’s a mount system. Want to be able to do one piece of it whenever you want? Roll a Shaman”

“Here’s a Portal Room. Want to make portals whenever you want, and to more places? Roll a mage.”

Same thing. All classes should have some sort of “this is mine” aspect to them, to increase their desirability. Locks and Paladins with free mounts, for another example.

Yeah, that only works when your “this is mine” aspect actually has some desirability though.

And also when “what you have” is not something the devs hate and want to get rid of.

All I am asking for is the water strider be treated like every other mount with a innate ability. EXEMPT IT from mount equipment so It can’t have 2.

I’m not mad at all, it’s almost pathetic watching you avoid a simple question of why drakes can still fly, and you legitimize water walking being removed.

I bet you’re a blast at parties.

Except for the part where you fail to realize that walking on water and flight are just special abilities for a mount. Yet you can only legitimize one because you know your argument is BS to begin with.

So again, it has nothing to do with obsolescence. And I know you’ll try to think up some witty retort, but a simple answer is all that is needed.

I’m honored that you’d think of me, rest assured you won’t be anywhere close to a thought in my mind after I leave this thread to go view another.

First it was because things are obsoleted at the end of expansions.

Now the purpose it to ‘get rid of that crutch’.

Let’s change the argument again shall we?

No everyone would not. The fictional “new” people who are 2 damn lazy to grind the rep wouldn’t nor would the vane.

And the worse part is it’s 5 timewalking dungeons to purchase the rep, which makes people even more lazy than previously thought. With the timewalking event on now, there is no reason not to have the rep.

Water-walking and flight are not analogous.

As Hillary said to Mr. MAGA, I’m living there rent-free. :sunglasses:

First…Now…

I would post the whynotboth.gif, but alas. Trust Level 2.

New people entering the game now get told to go grind 7-year-old content if they want a water-walker. In 8.2, they can work on current content to achieve it. Win-win.

“Everyone” doesn’t have the Water Strider. Only 52% of characters show having Angler’s at Exalted. This is even after WoD Timewalking making it something like a weekend chore to get. But it’s nice of you to assume I’ve been using a mount I never purchased on all my characters all of the time.
