Is he seriously trying to pretend like there weren’t already ways to water walk without the strider? There are already pots and they aren’t hard to find or expensive. The goalposts move so fast that you could kick the ball one time and score multiple goals.

The Anglers’ version is a perk for old-timers.

What they will cost is entirely dependent on one’s server. If you’re a blacksmith, you can make them yourself. Again, these sorts of things should be looked at as perks for the particular class, rather than yet another angle to bellyache over because you don’t have it.
My main here is an engineer, so I don’t have to worry about slow fall. That’s my perk.
There is already no reason for the water shoes. Everything mount equipment is offering is already in game. Why do we need a new system to give use what we already have. Killing the water strider is all the mount equipment does. Taking away something something people earned is all mount equipment does. If what they say is true and the bardings and goblin gliders still work in the new area the mount equipment is already useless. All you have to do is equip one of the mount equipment and use the consumables to make 1 mount have every thing. So what is the mount equipment for again? To take something away form the people that earned it. It’s not hard to see that everything it offers is in game now.
I have no problem with them putting in the mount equipment. What I have a problem with is them taking something away from me that I worked weeks for and spent gold on.

With all due respect, I’m no longer spending a moment of time on rebutting failed arguments, i.e. the “it shouldn’t go live!”, “make the strider immune to the change!”, etc…
If you want to discuss the mount system as it will be in 8.2 and beyond, I’m all ears. But it’s time to get out of the past.
In terms of the actions they aren’t. In terms of being abilities of a mount (which is the context I am referring to) they are absolutely analogous.
That’s like you saying that a wand and an axe aren’t analogous. Of course, they do different things, but they are weapons. You know this. You’re trying to obfuscate, please stop it.
