It’s not 50 gold.
It’s something that was free to every character I have (5 that I’m currently playing actively and about 15 or so more that I play occasionally…so 20 total, plus any I may make in the future) that I will now have to “re-purchase”…
So for me, it’s a total of 19 characters at 50g each, that’s 950g today, plus 50g more for any alt I may make in the future. Which isn’t a lot…it’s “couch change”. But that’s not the issue here… The issue is I ALREADY OWN IT, I SHOULDN’T HAVE TO BUY IT AGAIN!
My not wanting to pay for something tomorrow that I already have today isn’t entitlement or envy. If you understood basic things you’d see the difference in what I’m saying and what you’re claiming.
There is no getting through a steel reinforced concrete wall, though, so I give…
You’re right. I should just take the stick they threw at me after taking away my tree and be happy with it. I feel so much better now. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Doesn’t matter if the cost was one COPPER.
Nobody should have to pay AGAIN to regain what we’ve ALREADY HAD for years.
I don’t think you know what “literally” means.
Also, who is this “nobody” you speak of?
If you had exalted for anglers you get a free water walking equipment in the mail, so technically you aren’t paying for anything you didn’t already earn. If you want to get technical about this then you should go and get the rest of your toons exalted to “earn” the same mount. They literally made it easier by linking mounts account wide and some reputations, so technically you didn’t earn the water strider on your alts if you aren’t exalted on them either.
once you can fly who cares.
And then 9.0 hits and we can’t fly for a year…
Who cares?
Exactly what I was thinking!
We all should.
When the next expansion launches all this fancy new mount equipment will NOT work because it WILL be tied to BfA.
We’ll have to wait months before we can unlock the new equipment, and until then we’ll have to slog through tons of water routes/paths crammed with high-dazing mobs/area where you need a slowfall.
Fly?
Flying in obsolete areas… Who cares?
I’m thinking it will work, but since most of it is crafted and will take BFA materials to make, no one will want to go back and farm the mats as they’ll be doing the current content and profession things.
But, as you said, should they make new crafted items to take the place of the current items it will take months to unlock the patterns (or ranks) that don’t take crazy amounts of the most expensive materials to make.
They’ll probably end up being like the “best” potions and flasks.
These folks don’t realize what’s happening, but when they finally see it for what it really is the salt will be thick in the oceans of tears.
Levelling Alts before they get flying or while they’re going through no-fly zones?
People who didn’t grind WoD / Legion pathfinder and are levelling through those areas?
People in Tol Dagor?
People in 9.0 after flying gets gated behind a 12 month cool-off period?
You didn’t earn any of those rare and expensive mounts on any of your alts either. How about they make those rare and expensive mounts useable only on the toon that they dropped for, or that purchased them, so you’ll have to go out and farm up all that gold again and/or wait years for the mount to drop a 2nd, 3rd, 20th time?
Silver spoon and welfare cheque players.
Cant have people cry over things being to hard to get, so they give them it all.
And then they’ll nerf it to BfA and earlier zones, because Blizzard doesn’t want players to be ‘forced’ to run old content for mats. In fact, I’m pretty sure this dev team would be happier if they could just make the older content disappear completely.
… in order to recycle it.
Why do I always miss these surveys? When did you conduct it? And how did you distribute it to the millions of players?
I like the look of the strider very much! And I love the way it talks all the time, and the special it has. And I love running into people who have the strider and how we greet each other!
i stand corrected. some people care. just not me.
I think the same exact thing every time I see one of those “all inclusive, I speak for everyone everywhere” comments.
I also like my Strider quite a lot.
Starting in WoD, Blizzard has started limiting consumable usage of items to that xpac or they cap the level it can be used at. They do not want people spending time in old xpacs because they have to justify the work they do on the current xpac. (example, legion hoofplates, barding, stirrups can only be used in legion areas - they did the same for BFA items)
So, they will be changing out the equipment and what that looks like is anyone’s guess. This whole thing is a big roll of the dice. preserving what we have is important because of this fact.
