Mount equipment *sigh*

I am too, I’m happy for everyone that likes this system. But do they really have to nerf the strider to implement mount equipment? Why can’t we keep what we earned? If you don’t like it, more power to you I’m glad you are finally getting a replacement, it was long over due. But it still wrong taking away a reputation reward since it’s one thing Blizzard pushes down out throat each and every expansion. What rep reward is next?

As implemented, it seems to be the same thing as the paladin/dk/mag’har-orc mount speed buff.

Which means it’ll replace/ignore the +10% from [Mount Up!].

BFA Pathfinder 1 stacks with those class/race passives, and should also stack with speed mount equipment.

The [Swift Landing] upgrade option stacks with them as well, and should also stack with this mount equipment.

Basically, anyone not already a paladin, dk or mag’har will see a 10% mounted move speed improvement with this equipment. (or a 20% improvment if their guild doesn’t already have [Mount Up!]).

I think you hit it on the head. Using the solution I presented people would still have the option to grind out their own water strider if they wanted it (through rep or timewalking etc.) but I really think you’re right. Blizzard wants to get rid of it in a way that no one can use it for its original intended purpose.

Thank you for clarifying how mounts should work , in your opinion.

I am now waiting to see when they will be making the mounts, that carry transmog, traders and other special abilities, obsolete.

As you point out, to expect otherwise would simply be “entitled” and “naïve enough to think it would function that way forever”.

Many strider owners feel as passionate about their investment in their water strider as players who purchased tokens and received gold to purchase any of the versions of mounts with options for transmog and the rest. Why do these mount owners get assurance that they can keep their mount investment, while strider owners see their investment being taken away from them and sold back to them at a nerfed state?

I’m sure that you must agree that this is horribly unfair. To view it otherwise would be far too hypocritical and an embarrassment to think that you could not see that this is the case.

I mean, you are not just a Blizzard shill…right?
You are just looking at what is truly fair in the game…right?

To value some players money and time investments, and let them keep special abilities that they earn, and yet totally disrespect other players, who worked for something that they wanted in the game, speaks far louder than Blizzard, and people like you, seems to realize.

I’m kind of done.

I won’t trust Blizzard to honor ANYTHING any more. This has given me motivation to only do things that don’t cause me to invest more than I am willing to see Blizzard take away from me, or nerf to the ground any more.

If something requires more time, or money invested that I feel might be taken away, or nerfed beyond acceptability later, I no longer want to invest the time and energy.

It is just too frustrating when you realize that Blizzard will not even honor your investment in something as simple and basic as investing time, energy and/or money to earn mounts.

I’m kind of done with expectations in the game any more (period).

I am definitely done with thinking that players, like you, will be far thinking enough to realize how not supporting the strider folks, who are only asking that they not change the strider that they worked to obtain, is telling Blizzard that many players will gladly turn on each other if there is a new shiny in it for them.

This is like a thumbs up for more of the same from Blizzard and next time it may be something that actually matters to you.

So, who are the entitled folks you are talking about and what are the lines that players should feel they are able to draw that Blizzard should have some requirement to honor, if any?

Curious how far your “entitled” mindset really stretches.

Whataboutsm isn’t a valid argument.

Many strider owners feel as passionate about their investment in their water strider

That’s the heart of your problem; this was supposed to be a perk, not a crutch.

Don’t meme around the subject. It just points out how shallow your thinking on the subject is and how narrow your ability to recognize what is obvious disrespect for other players currently exists in this game…from both Blizzard and players who would gladly turn on their fellow players if there is something in it for themselves.

Ironically, you would not lose a single new shiny for attempting to understand why so many strider owners are upset. You just don’t care.

I think some players actually LIKE to see OTHER players treated this way.
This simply gives some an excuse to call attention to their wholehearted support of anything Blizzard…until the nerfs and loses get too close to home.

I,m not saying this is your motivation…just pointing out how some players actually get something out of the divisions in the community.

You really do not “get” why this is so funny, do you?

What do you call mounts that allow you to gather mats without dismounting, or mounts that allow you to stay out in the field forever because almost nothing that you need is not supplied by your mounts?

Crutches appear to be in the eye of the beholder.

You are talking without really saying anything except that you don’t care if other players work for nothing that they can count on when something new comes up to grind, or pay for.

The rest of your words simply parrot the attitude that paying for the pleasure of working to collect mounts and pets is an uncertain investment, at best, and will never be able to be trusted to be what you think you are working for again.

Makes my sub investment seem a lot less meaningful, to say the least.

@ Kyraz – you’ll never convince him. He has been trolling these threads for weeks. He didn’t get it then, doesn’t get it now, won’t ever get it.

He just wants to gloat over other peoples’ losses.

You’re responding to a ‘slippery slope’ argument, not a ‘whataboutism’ argument. Get it right.

Whataboutism has become his response to everything. I don’t think he understands what it actually means, however.

The problem is the fact that those who feel everything should even if it is not worked for will last a couple of hours in Classic. * They will not like the fact that mobs can’t be tagged by everyone. They won’t like the 15 minute spawn time for boss mobs and that someone else could easily snipe their kill.

  • They won’t like having to walk everywhere and finding out there are very few flightpaths.
  • They won’t like seeing people who have played vanilla jump way ahead of them because those people know the shortcuts.

There are many things they won’t like, and within a couple of hours they will abandon that game to come back to the free giveaways of retail.

I made a post earlier regarding the priority level of classic

I’m not going to read this full thread, but I am going to optimistically assume that every post that came after this statement was “Right?!” or “omg I never realized that’s what was happening…”

All the ones who asked for it to be equipment (so any mount could water walk), in threads as recent as this expansion, since the water striders were in the game.

Then all of the people who agreed, in the threads.

They are catering to them.

So like 4 people. Don’t think so.

But… I’ve never seen any of these types of threads

Pretty sure most of those defending Blizz and brown-nosing them over this, never said anything before they heard about the equipment plan.

Now they’re saying everything’s peachy, and they think they somehow deserve the effect of a mount they were too damn lazy to work for.

The strider wasn’t a damn raid boss drop, it was and is an EASY REP GRIND.

ANYONE can do it, most seem to just be LAZY.

Catering to a lazy customer.

Almost as bad as delivery for fast food.

What makes that funny to me is, I used to work in fast food (Wendy’s).

Was hilarious to see all the lazy people coming in there.

But then there’s lazy people everywhere. I currently work retail in a grocery store, and you always see regulars demanding help with things they clearly have no issue doing themselves.
The worst ones however are the buttholes who rush in less than 5 minutes before closing, wanting to fill up a shopping cart.

Some people.

I hate Trolls. I played one once and I absolutely LOATHED it.
ugly feets , always hunched over, TUSKS that made no sense!
the only reason I have the silly things around is for the Running of the Trolls, in a few days.
Other than that, I am beyond delighted that there are other races in this game.
So that’s what I do I play other races
get over you self
