They could have just made the Water Strider keep its water walking but not be affected by mount equipment (Like the sky golem). That way people who hate the Water Strider have the option to use mount equipment and never see it again, those that want to keep using the water strider to walk on water can still use it, and those that never got the water strider can now walk on water. All parties are happy.

of course they could have but that would be too easy and make way too much sense.

Can you give me a guarantee as to what will happen regarding water-walking equipment for the other 99?

Can you guarantee use of other equipment won’t be made necessary by environment/mobs to ensure we keep swapping equipment, in order to create a continual gold sink and encourage the purchase of more tokens?

If the new cloth to make the saddle blankets are like the cloth to make the good gear, it will be painful to farm. I’d get lucky if I got 1 piece off of multiple mobs, and I did that new profession quest which said I’d have an increase in drops : /

I’ve asked this question multiple times in the other strider threads, and no one has ever given any type of answer. In this day and age, mobs respawn very quickly and everyone can tag them. I don’t see what difference it makes if I get there a few seconds before the person who has to take the land route.

WRONG. We’re saying to make it EXEMPT from the equipment. It gets to keep water walking, but that’s ALL IT DOES. Just like how they’re handling the Sky Golem, which (IMO) is infinitely more overpowered than water walking.

but that means they can too, then you’ll never catch them especially if they go flying or flight form(druid)… so it’s better to path of frost and keep them in combat.

It may sound funny but it appears more and more to be the case.

It’s usually always 1 or 2 of the same people spamming up the topic for the defendant and a tag match with the same old strawmen and misunderstandings.

No, we just want the water-strider to retain its water-walking passive. The majority of us are looking at what will happen in 9.0 when they nerf or remove the water-walking mount equipment.

Also, does it really matter? Everyone in the game would have the opportunity to have their “cake and eat it too”. It is not like there is a super special group of people who can get the strider. Everyone could go get the rep and buy one. And it is a heck of a lot cheaper today than it was back when I bought it in MOP.

I really do not understand this type of attitude. What I do in this game has zero impact on what you do.

No one has ever really articulated the reason why they hold this opinion. I am very interested in understanding it.
