Mount equipment *sigh*

Those that can’t make their own decisions, have Blizzard take the off in a way that way they have no choice but to do what is available.

So?

We have that anyway, by using consumables alone, or with mount equipment.

Why is the freedom to choose one mount instead of another for it’s FUNCTION so terrible and bad that Blizzard has to burn it out like a brat with a magnifying lens chasing helpless ants?

The real question is why are we fixing things that aren’t broken?

Blizzard breaks things that way we complain, that way they can fix it, to look like the good guys.

then add more. It’s not like they can’t.

Why does anyone think that all mounts must be the same?

I just wanted them to make the Dreadwake actually float on water.

It flies, for Pete’s sake, but it can’t float?

Not true.

If you have a ground mount that’s immune to daze, faster or good for running off cliffs, you’re almost certainly going to be using that one ALL the time unless you need to cross water.

The complaint (ridiculous false as it is) is that EVERYONE uses the bugs ALL the time, and that’s what Blizzard is trying to fix (obviously not). Exempting the water strider DOES fix this, unless of course someone equips water walking and chooses to use the strider all the time anyway.

Which some will just to spite those that hate the bugs.

Conveniene yes, but it doesn’t trivialize what is obviously an obstacle when getting around. There is no double standard. They surprisingly spotted an abusable loop hole and covered it before the issue with the strider persisted.

I will apologize for the format of remark, but it did seem like somone trying to compare two things that are only related by name. Not by mechanics.

Ah, mog, vendor, herbalism are all conveniences.
Water walking and antidaze ignore travel obstacles.

It’s hard to post as all the toons I play, but I do Pal, Hunter, Lock, and DK at the moment; I tend to rotate a bit.

But regardless, what did my Hunter lose coming up? Sure I roll resounding (so anti-daze is not useful anyway) and I also have the speed bonus (that everyone should have with pathfinder 1)… in the extremely rare case I get dismounted when wm=off, I have gliders… so ww seems like the natural choice. So, no loss at all, but I gain the ability to use any mount. Win.

DK’s can do that
Shamans can do that
Tanks can do that
Anyone with Barding or Water Walking elixirs can do that.

Either Blizzard hasn’t gone far enough, or whatever they’re trying to accomplish with this stupid change is trying to solve a different problem.

Personally, (and I’ve said this before) … they’re doing this because someone figured out that [Summon Random Favorite Mount] which smartly picks a flying, swimming, striding or ground mount depending on where you are… probably got BROKEN by the sub-sealevel Najzatar zone.

And rather than FIX [Summon Random Favorite Mount] which only started working properly in 8.0 finally… they just decided to completely break the need for it to be smart about water walking mounts.

It’s the equivalent of locking a door, painting over it and hiding it behind a bookcase rather than fixing the burned out light in the room you just sealed off.

Cheap cop out and totally wrong on Blizzards’ part, but I understand what they are doing, Just hope in about a year I’ll have the water strider back the ways it was than the way THEY want it.

So what’s the issue with the change?

Yeah you don’t get it. Sorry about your water strider. I’ll be enjoying my water walking ravasaur!

See previous post.@jops

If you can afford it. As I have mentioned in other threads, the crafted items have items that must be farmed, so no one will have them until they get their crafting up to 165 and they have farmed the mats.

Those who are ambitious will of course corner the market early on, and you’ll probably be buying equipment for a pretty copper (penny  )

Also, cauldrons, flasks, and potions are going to need the new mats as well, so those who run raids/M+ will be focusing on either making or purchasing those, which will also probably cost a pretty copper.

Yup,crafter would have to make them to be used there ,the old one can’t be used from the start. On your mark, get ready…the race to pathfinder 2 coming.

This might shock you, but there is a thing called alts. OMG!

They’re not doing anything close to this cool. You can use ONE mount equipment at a time, and it affects EVERY mount. That’s not cool mechanics, it’s set and forget. I don’t see many players carrying around extra equipment to swap out mount abilities on the go. If it were a mount by mount thing, that’d be rad. But it isn’t. So it’s not.

Getting flying in 2-3 weeks. Mount equipment wont mean jack.

A one-time use item hardly makes up for it. Next.
