Okay I’m leveling a char ready for wrath (a rogue). But now I’m unsure and might change class, which is more op in pvp in Wrath rogue/mage/warlock? But also which spec out of those 3 too? I’m going prob rogue or lock I think.
Dk
Tenchar
What can you tolerate battling against a dk as?
That’s the true answer.
I know dk’s are op but I don’t like playing them at all. Thats why I only suggested those 3 classes to choose from.
I don’t remember what the rankings were, but mages had a stupid easy rotation and I had a lot of fun as an assassination rogue.
SP, Affi Lock, Unholy, Ret, arcane …
Have fun
ret paladin dk will be in its nerfed state using the last patch.
They change as the tier set bonuses change during content releases. Warrior and mage are a safe bet in any expansion. Locks usually too
R.P.M
dk/hpal
those are the team comps that come to my head
Rogue is going to be the most consistently best class throughout the expansion.
Assassination is great for Naxx/Phase 1
Combat is great in Ulduar and performs exceptionally well in ToGC and ICC
Only in the later phases do your Warriors and Mages pull ahead because of the gear scaling.
Locks will be similar to Rogues in terms of dps tier rankings.
Your top DPS in those first phases will be Rogues with Hysteria buffs rolling FoKing everything they can.
If you are really good at the class I’d say rogue is the best.
Will also stay good in the event of the possible future of cataclysm.
Rogue/Pally toss up…
Ele shaman. They are the best caster in LK for all seasons.
Depends what you can find as a partner.
Warr / hpal is consistently at the pop of every wotlk private server. So if you know a hpal that will be easy success.
Mage is always good, lots of fun comps to play. The skill cap for most mage comps relies on the mage mainly. So that’s on you if you want your rating very based on your skill.
Lock id say is prob least fun, least comp choices but still ele/destro is easily a r1 comp but locks have always been a high skill cap too with proper pet dispels and pet position.
I think see what your friends are playing who you are playing with then make a choice if you aren’t set on something.
My friend was playin rogue for tbc so I made a priest since I have no clue what to play and it’s been a good time learning not only a new class but first time playing healer too.
Mage for S5/S6, and Warlock for S7/S8.
Amazed that only one person has said Ele in this entire thread.
Ele is nuts for pvp in wrath.
@thread in general…
Unholy dk is a good dueling class, but 3.3.5 is hardly og season 5 class balance… Dks are upper middle of the pack at best.
If I where picking a class purely for pvp I’d go ranged dps and probably something like:
Ele, destro, shadow, affliction, moonkin, frost mage, marks hunter, fire mage, survival hunter, arcane mage, beast hunter, demo lock
I might be low on mages a bit, it’s my least played ranged
For melee, I’d rank it at ret, unholy, sub, arms, frost, feral cat , assassin, combat, fury, enhance, prot war… Don’t play prot pally or bear.
I’m probably a bit low on arms, warrior is my least played melee. Power wise it’s up near the top, I just find their QoL low without dedicated healers following you around, where the others are more self sufficient.
Ele wasn’t one of his 3 options is the only reason why we didn’t mention it.
All of them will be good in wrath. Stop worrying about which is best and just play the one you want.
If only people did exactly this rather than trying to play the meta; game would be a lot better as a result.
Wrath PvP was the most balanced the game has ever been. Nothing is really op. Rogues are simming highest PvE dps on pservers though, but who knows on live servers. Blizz uses vastly different values than pservers do. That’s why meta predictions for TBC were far from accurate.
