Now? It’s something they’ve done regularly for years. They’ve worked with Pinkertons since the 90s. It’s just the agency they pay to investigate stolen proprietary information. I don’t like or care about them, but this is not a strange or controversial thing to do. If someone is stealing your crap, and you have the resources to figure out how/why, you’re going to do it.

but that is the point the person did not steal anything his card guy got the boxes mixed up same name was on both boxes
they went to his house and not ask how and why it happen

We should all hope Blizz isn’t taking notes from WOTC on handling leaks…

Right. Someone’s posting unreleased cards online. Someone shows up at their house and asks them where they came from. They explained it. The Pinkertons didn’t burn him out of his house and shoot him with a crossbow, they asked him where he got unreleased cards.

Do you NOT know their reputation?

i know the history of the Pinkertons. Do you NOT know the history of the company’s forum you’re posting on? Are you not aware that the USA mass murdered native Americans? Are you not aware that you probably have the DNA of an ancient warlord who did a genocide? What does it have to do with a guy being asked where he got unreleased cards?

If it is great.

But Kotaku seems like it’s “if someone said it on twitter than it’s true” journalism.

Pretty sure what they did was illegal.

But will he sue wotc? Very expensive.

It wouldn’t be a hard defense in most states. Bunch of dudes threatening you on your property?

Seems like any reasonable person would assume bodily harm was intended and would rightly open fire.

Kotaku and other gaming “journalism” sites have some of the worst journalism and writers in existence. It’s why you get so many articles that are hard pushing an agenda and authors that are proud of it. There’s no editorial control.

The funny part is that a simple AI can do a better job than them. Look at the articles out there - They all read like a 5th grader trying desperately to hit 2000 words.

That being said it was on a bunch of different sites even with the terrible writing.
