More World of Warcraft Experiences to Come

It’s probably going to be more time-limited content. I think Blizzard is going to be going all-in on LTMs (limited-time modes) like many other live service games are doing. They probably didn’t add a new feature for time-limited modes only to do it once ever for Plunderstorm.

Season of discovery did it just fine

We were told the general idea and could brainstorm the things devs would play with before SoD went live.

Oh yeah, gotta keep players hooked and playing year round 24/7. That’s a sign of a good company.

Wish there was a pinnochio emoji I could give Blizzard posts.

I would like to pose this question to Holly Longdale:

Regarding this:

Everything Ion said was a lie. (Just look at Fyrrak, or Tindral, or Neltharion, or Sark, etc. etc. etc.).

So given that Blizzard lied to us - AGAIN (remember flying in WoD?) - why the hell should we believe anything you say?

Thanks

… Please no more FOMO… people who like FOMO are really damaged by societys pull on materialism and stress…

They can riot, but you will quickly realize there are not enough PVP players to support that riot. The rioters will probably end up shouting “There are dozens of us” and promptly run off to cut off some jeans.

Let’s move forward with more fun less frustrating pve events. I say this as someone who slogged through PS.

ahh yes, so excited “to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head [for a $50k pot]”. Want some real shock value and participation? - Should have instead opened it up to the best of the community that passionately jumped into your new game mode. :upside_down_face:

I don’t even like PS that much, but God forbid they do a PvP focused event once every decade without the forum’s exploding.

Let the people who enjoy it, enjoy it. They don’t get much to be excited about.

They likely won’t complain as much because someone that enjoys PvP isn’t likely to be the type of person to cry over stupid things like this.

They can just choose to do or not do the content and move on.

Just like every other god awful boring “event” DF has made.

The PVE part is already better than the forced PVP aspect of plunderstorm so that’s more appealing to me but I’ll reserve my judgment until I see whatever it is before I judge like judge.

Honestly I’m not so unhappy about the alternate game mode thing… I just don’t like that it was timed and going away and likely taking its rewards with it.

Imagine if instead it was designed to be evergreen and this was but the first level of reward track we got access to. You go through 40 levels of renown for the Pirate theme and then later on in another patch they give you another 40 renown for 80 renown but this second set of 40 is Ethereal themed or something?

You can still earn the earlier 40 because its a length of progression. The game mode is always there for you to enjoy.

It would feel a whole lot better like that in general.

Though I do prefer that whatever we’re doing be more often than not involving WoW itself and our player characters than a secondary game type… Like once in awhile sure but not always. :stuck_out_tongue:

I rather okay classic then this awful event.

You are missing the issue here. The issue is they advertised this event as an event made from community feedback, an event for WoW i.e. a literal patch for WoW and we was kept secret to hype it. All of this is false,

  1. Except for that one post from 2018 no one asked for a PVP BR mode.
  2. more importantly no one asked for it to be a completely different game from wow
  3. No one asked for this external game (i.e not WoW) to called a WoW patch, with rewards like Tenders and Dragonriding mounts attached to it.
  4. And no one asked for this ridiculous grind.

If this was billed as a new PVP game from the beginning then all of this could have been avoided. This is all Blizzards making as they know what they are doing.

Time for tin foil conspiracy theory.

I feel like Blizzard is testing this mode out to eventually bring WoW onto XBox. First they can bring the BR mode into XBox and validate the game engine etc and eventually make a WoW xbox version which can have classes fit into the six active categories.

Blizz didn’t say anything like that about PS lol.

They put a pirate logo on the road map and said it wouldn’t be on the PTR.

Players invented a lot of things in their head about what that meant.

I think they are aware of the negative reception of Plunderstorm and try to damage control it a bit.

I’m looking forward to new WoW experiences to come, assuming they’re in Retail and not a separate game aka Plunderstorm. New Retail content would be fantastic.

As for the idea of Player Housing, I’m totally against it. Because if 17 years of playing the WoW experience, instead of people hanging out in one of the major cities, they would just hide away in their house and we would still never really see them out in the world. Like now , only much emptier. Besides, we already have a form if Player Housing ie: Garrisons on Draenor. Just expand on those with rewards and achievements and lootable furniture from outdoor settings and towns, and maybe add a woodworking and stonemason secondary profession to compliment your Garrisons. Heck, they are better than player housing because the have a small town you can build.

But we all know that you can’t please everyone, so regardless of my opinion on this, there will always be flamers and haters and trolls who complain just for the sake of complaining.

I’m just hoping that the next “experimental” event is more thoroughly vetted so that it doesn’t break a ton of stuff on launch. Character friendlists, character-specific macros, chat filters and chat channels are still busted since Plunderstorm came about, from what I hear some events like the Superbloom are also affected.
