Not necessarily, since Ysera has only actively appeared in Cata, Legion and Shadowlands. Cata would be her most neutral appearance, since she is mostly involved with the other Aspects solely; meanwhile both Legion and Shadowlands involve her in stories having to do not just with Tyrande and the Night Elves but the continuation of storylines important to them.
She’s a neutral character for game purposes, but in the long tradition of WoW she is one of many who are heavily involved in storylines that give more ‘payoff’ (good or bad as they may be) for Alliance interested fans.
Maybe because the nightelfs are her friends?
I meam thralls entire story in cata wow lnvolved ysera. She send him on his path. We even know from the thrall novel that he got dreams from her even before and he united the dragons once again. She “saw” it in her dreams.
To call ysera an alliance benefiting character is only possible if you ignore the rest.
In sl its fair.
I never read the Thrall novel so this is literally news to me.
Which says a lot about the information Blizzard puts in-game.
Yeah i agree, thats really insane. If you don’t read the novels, you will lost a huge amount of lore.
I would prefer if they put such important stuff ingame
I wouldn’t call Ysera an Alliance character. When did she join the Alliance?
She announced she would’ve helped the Alliance fight the Horde at Teldrassil. But I’m fine with laying out bullet points.
- Favored pet of Elune, the only True God that favors any race: the night elves.
- Bound only one single race to her realm, giving them preferential treatment: Night Elves.
- The only cutscenes with Ysera that I’m aware of directly involved Tyrande, the favored priestess of Elune, to whom Ysera is a pet.
- Nightsong plays when Ysera shows up now.
But Nightsong in 50% is about Highbornes, so that also includes the Horde Blood Elves…
Here’s da lyrics:
Nordrassil
Zin-Azshari
Quel’dorei
Nordrassil
Elune adore
Elune adore
Nordrassil
Elune
Zin-Azshari
Zin-Azshari Adore (but last sentence for me sounds more like Shan’do).
Does anyone still find this lyric somehow…extremely underwhelming?
I mean, just a few Thalassic and Darnassic terms mixed and tadaaa…a melody to it and done.
The Burning of Teldrassil was a war crime, a terrorist attack and a crime against nature, giving her good reasons to oppose the Horde.
Her favoritism of the Night Elves doesn’t mean she joined the Alliance. If she had to choose between the Night Elves and the rest of the Alliance, she’d probably choose the Night Elves.
Nightsong was part of Vanilla and played in the Night Elf zone Ashenvale.
Doesn’t matter why she did it: Ysera chose a side.
Just because Ysera chose a side on this issue doesn’t mean she joined the Alliance. She doesn’t give Horde PCs the cold shoulder, for one.
Plus, why should we take the Grimoire seriously? Given Blizzard’s tendency to arbitrarily retcon lore and the Broker’s biased perspective, what’s the point of buying this book?
lmao
Well, Blizzard always does that, and its always epic. Music is the best part of WoW.
Just like this WoW Call to Arms!
Lyrics:
Gloria
Honorifice
Proelium Facio
Animus
Gradior Quo
Prodo
In Excelsis
Precedo
Bellator
Decerte
Adversa
Incurro
Invadoria
Desideratus Fatum
Desideratus Bellum
Actually that song was added in Cata, but yes, in Night Elves zones.
man i am happy i didnt buy this book.
I do feel sorry for anyone that bought it.
So did you guys hear about the ff14 mmo?
Its a great game and you can play for free up to lvl 60 or so on all classes.
And the devs actually care about you.
Hell I would say the devs care more about wow than Blizzard does.
Because blizzard doesnt care an iota.
I don’t like this but can’t say im surprised, Blizzard has always treated Shamanism as the red headed stepchild of the Magics.
I would assume they include sunwalkers into this, along with blood knights and prelates.
“We live to serve under the Light of An’she. And those who make the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives for others, then you become yeena’e, those who herald the dawn.”
“LMAO sike. You actually become a blue human. Sounds weird, I know. But you’re gonna love having five fingers.”
That stuff is why I particularly found it annoying there was “you are just stupid westerners ignorant of anything but your individualism” posts that were highly liked when people didn’t care for the whole “lose your personal identity” thing.
Can’t have ancestral worship when your ancestors are stripped of any memory of you.
It’s just funny the fix was so easy.
Create one (1) zone that deals with The Ancestors who exist to protect the Veil or help mortal societies deal with death.
Muehzala be an eternal One.
All Ancestor Worship races go here at default and can choose later to go elsewhere.
Could’ve even kept Draka in Maldraxxus, having Durotan and Cairne be the Chiefs of the Dead
But no
While its obvious the most Satan inspired character of the series is up to no good and there isn’t anything morally grey about his or Sylvie’s actions, I was never fond of the Arbiter. Why should I respect the decisions of a robot made by some ancient gods that probably don’t really care about things like respecting individual rights, let alone things like “I want to be with my family when I die”. Even in cultures that don’t have ancestral worship, I suspect most people who believe in afterlives still expect to end up with those they care about who died before them.
