Then a new limit was reached that’s higher than an old limit. There’s nothing else to it. You’re trying to create a hypothetical that doesn’t exist. If we limited ourselves by every hypothetical, nothing would ever happen in this world.
I’ve been down this rabbit hole with you before on such things. So this is the only response I’m offering to you, because it’s an illogical way to think. Especially when other game have ceilings of 100 and I don’t see anyone asking for more slots in those games.
Cause you and everyone else know that having more characters for an account will lead blizzard to worsening rng to counteract the increased amount of chances afforded by said additional characters.
People can currently have 10 licenses on one Bnet account. That’s 500 characters. So that argument doesn’t make sense. Of course, it didn’t make sense in the first place with 50 characters, so…
You can have up to 8 World of Warcraft accounts in the same Blizzard account.
You can add new accounts through your Games & Subscriptions Account Management page.
The next time you launch the Battle.net App, use the drop-down menu on top of the PLAY button to select the World of Warcraft account you want to log into.
And there is a feasible reason.
Unless you are on the doll/trustfund and running on adrenaline to not sleep cause of Freddy Kruger you are not doing anything more than middling around on a daily basis with that many characters.
You know how you and everyone else can prove that you need more character slots?
Post your first sub date
Post how many days since that first date how many days you were subbed to WoW.
/played for entire account and for each character on your account
Let’s see just how much time you and everyone else spends on each character to warrant the life of that character and thus giving justification for more characters.
Who the duck are you to judge how we are having fun?
In case you haven’t noticed. in 20 years, data storing has gone from MBs to TBs. It costs literally nothing to have a giant server to host these characters.
Although them being free would be justified for the age of the game and the classes/races they have added, we are willing TO PAY for this extra service.
All of that is completely irrelevant. People play the game differently than you. Time played is meaningless when some characters are used for different types of gameplay. Your requirements for how someone should play is not how things work.
Again though, these restrictions need to be in place otherwise we have the same gold farming issues that we’ve ostensibly been told they’re trying to combat.
Just pull up any of the various “how do I make gold in Shadowlands?” threads and the answers are ALWAYS “making gold is easy, just do your callings on umpteen alts!”. As I said, while there MAY(heavy emphasis) be legitimate reasons for wanting more beyond the cap, this would definitely be abused by gold farmers…so if you want more alts, use the available methods, as it really does help mitigate this abuse.
I’ll stop at 50 characters because is the limit per account, but when the game adds drop rates like Love Rocket, you must level up every possible attempt and try the sloot machine.
Remember when this WASN’T the point of the Forums?
Remember when the majority of the Playerbase loved the game just as it was?
Look where we are 17 years later… a lot of people now get sick just thinking about having to run a dungeon with the LFD tool… a lot of people utterly despise the time-gating of content… a lot of people are so over the forgetting to fly each expansion and the accompanied and dreaded Pathfinder… most are just completely over what the Community has become entirely…
Yet, here we all still are.
Just make the game Alt-Friendly again and I’ll stop complaining about a lot of things. Leveling alts is fine, but this current system makes maintaining alts almost impossible when you have a lot of them.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still get them to max level… but with the current systems in place, don’t expect my DPS to top the charts on the Crown Chemical Company in Shadowfang… because that is literally the only reason that I have left to get them to max level…
The Big Love Rocket.
That’s right, The Big Love Rocket.
I refuse to call it the X-45 Heartbreaker. Woke went too far.
I am not making the argument of storage. Soo don’t know where you got that point.
My argument against more slots is that I know for a FACT blizzard will dumpster droprates to compensate for more daily chances affordable by extra characters. Which will ruin my gameplay just because someone say for instance wants to have extra mount chances or spends like 17 minutes in a month on a character.
I do not trust blizzard to behave in my favor, and thus I am working on what I perceive as an upstream source of issues to that.
