More Character Slots Per Account or Add a Service

I really feel they should add more character slots and I hope this year they finally give us some. Heck I’d pay for slots, two accounts is just not worth it IMO.

You most likely think that way because there is a finite number of ways to spell Sylvanas.

why on earth would you need 50+ character slots?

I think this would be a good money-making opportunity for Blizzard and so they should do it. I bet some people would be willing to pay a dollar per slot.

Gold making on multiple servers.
RP.
Customization.

I host leveling BGs and other stuff for a PvP community, and have alts that I play regularly that aren’t fully levelled from that, but still see regular playtime. Only reason I don’t help with the twink stuff now is because I just don’t have enough slots.

The character selection is pretty much just a MoBA character select to some players at this point. A game this age that has actively encouraged alt play can wind up like this.

I see your 51 and counter with an additional 1… for 151.

Thats my first question too. Even if you do one char one spec that’s just extreme overkill. There’s no need for that many.

Is your server merged with any other? Make toons on those other servers.

There actually IS a service available to grant just that. You can have multiple WoW accounts on 1 Bnet account. It costs a bit more since you gotta purchase the game again and maintain a sub on each account you purchase…that’s entirely in line with what you’re suggesting though OP.

It might not be ideal, but this way there are at least some barriers to 3rd party gold farmers and such. While there may be some legitimate reasons to want more than 50 slots on a single account, the potential for abuse is too great so such barriers must exist.

I feel like if one has 50 Max Level Characters and is mad that they can’t have more of them without deleting one… there may be an issue with them.

How does one have the time to:
Have 50 Max level Characters
Attend to / Care for each one of them enough to not retire (delete) one of them to make room for more adventurers…

I feel like this is a digital hoarder problem as opposed to blizzard limitations.
(especially with how UN-Alt-friendly SL has been.)

This is a fallacy. All it takes is an idea, a little creativity and some experimentation.

Take your name for instance. Instead of copying a lore character’s name you could have used it as starting point and then gone from there.

(ie Aelvana: aelv a combo of elf and norse alf, and vana meaning hope or forest from norse Vanaheim so name would mean ‘hope elf’ or ‘forest elf’. This took me 15 minutes.)

I can almost guarantee the vulgar ones, borderline or outright, are on purpose.

Oh, now that is clever!!! I am so using it in the future.

:cupcake: :cupcake: :cupcake: for you!!!

OP, is your server connected to any others?

For me, Shu’Halo and Eitrigg make up my realm. I can make 50 characters on both, all on the same realm.

Edit. I looked it up, it is connected to two others.

  • Area 52, Un’Goro and Sen’jin (2013-11-27 and 2014-06-18)

You can have a total of 150 characters on your realm, go nuts!

Until you’ve filled the additional slots, too, and start lobbying for ‘just 5 or 10 more’. You’d be asking for more character slots every few months.

There has to be a limit, a line drawn somewhere. Blizzard has drawn that line at 50.

I have 3 main characters, that I play, with the few leftover ones being characters I could do without:

If FIFTY, read that again FIFTY, is NOT enough for you then 5-10 more slots are not going to be enough. There would never be enough character slots for you.

FIFTY; I had no idea we even had that many. AND they are all “max level?”:

It might be time to pursue more interests? Each expansion, I have trouble keeping my 3 characters “current.” I have a 40-hour workweek job, so I’m busy enough and I’m not even engaging with other humans outside of that.

This is the question I don’t understand. How does this effect any of you that don’t want it? It’s not bothering your play style in the least? If I had 100 characters, would it even effect how many you have or how you play? How does it hurt anyone if we add more?

That’s the thing thing, I feel overwhelmed many times. I have two mains I always gear and level. I work 50 plus hours a week, i still ALT. It’s a hobby, just like collecting baseball cards, comics, toys, stamps, whatever lol

Everyone plays differently. Your way isn’t how someone else may play.

Everyone still can only have 50 characters per license.

It’s not a good solution though. As others have mentioned.

I’d be fine if they lowered the number of licenses to 5, implemented a new naming policy to allow for one space, apostrophe or hyphen, then let people buy 5 slots for $5, up to a maximum of 75 or 100.

People who play different characters for different reasons don’t have mental issues and this is a very close minded and offensive way to view another’s playstyle.

I do NOT want multiple accounts. It’s an organisation mess.

I will happily pay a one time fee of 10.- per slot to get more slots on my main account. In the end, yes, I would be cheaper by having two accounts, but I want it to be organised!

If you don’t want them, then don’t buy them. This does NOT take away from other development as it’s relatively easy to implement.

Then what? What happens when you’re bumping up against the just-as-arbitrary 100-character limit?

Then, you get that second licence.

Most games I’ve played have at some point increased the allowed character slots simply because they also added more classes/races, either for free or by purchase.
Wow’s 50 character limit is outdated.
