I don’t see any mention of pvp in the Remix. What’s up with that?? Did I miss it? Maybe they’ll do another Remix for only pvp players then? Seems odd that blizz would alienate so much of their player base by making an only pve event of this scale.
I barely pvp. I actually want to do more pvp. But even with that being said, Plunderstorm seems like a very unbalanced trade for Mop Remix. But if that’s true, why not market it that way? Why not release them at the same time or make them intermingle? WHY WHY WHY WHY I want answers!
It’s funny how complaints about Plunderstorm being PvP-focused were seen as ‘legitimate’, while complaints about Remix being PvE-focused are just trolling/memes.
You have been given your answer. You had an entire FOMO limited time event specifically for PvPers. As someone earlier stated, you had your turn. Now you can sit out like most PVErs did for Blunderstorm.
Most of these limited time events will be targeting a part of the player population.
All will have desirable rewards for collectors, many of whom are likely to play until they get those items, even if they wouldn’t otherwise play that content.
MoP remix has accelerated leveling for players who want to level a new character fast. A lot of players fit this profile.
People who are nostalgic about playing MoP again, who want to see what the power ups will do for them.
These limited time microgames are designed to start and end. They are the new filler content.
I don’t see it as being because ‘there wasn’t a PvE equivalent’. I see it as following the long-standing trend of PvP-exclusive stuff being generally maligned by folks who discuss the game, indicating that there’s a strong bias towards PvE in general. Even if Remix had come first and we were now awaiting the start of Plunderstorm, you know there’d still be the same threads popping up complaining about how people are ‘forced’ to PvP in order to get the rewards from it, and there’d be a lot of support from others for those complaints.
Meanwhile, any attempts at complaining about a lack of PvP in Remix are going to be seen, as I said, as trolling or at least not taken seriously regardless, because the forums for the most part aren’t interested in PvP in the first place.
I really think Plunderstorm was to try to attract Fortnite players. That can’t be an actual effort to please the pvp population of WoW. This is not an equal event or comparison and is an easily disguised justification to have a fireworks worthy pve event and a sparkler of a pvp event just to try to appease player bases in time of boredom to keep us subbing.
It wouldn’t work in remix because of how OP people get, but in theory a return to Timeless Isle pvp would have been the answer otherwise. Sure it’s available in retail technically but it’s not the same. But anyway yeah, in some alternate world it could have been fun and work for the pvp people.
